Great sound, great fit, great product.

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel really content with my A2 Life NC earbuds. I am usually pretty picky about earbuds, because I often feel ear pain and discomfort if prolong use. My A2's so far the the most comfortable earbuds I have ever owned. The are barely noticeable in my ears, and I don't feel they are going to fall out like other ear buds.

I use my earbuds for exercise, business meetings, watching movies and listening to music. All with great sound, and great microphone response.

I recommend this product to everyone. I myself plan on buying a backup pair.

They fit great, Soundquality is decent, but the design of the product makes it so that it catches a lot of wind and this makes them unusable on the bike/skateboard etc. Walking is ok, but anything with higher velocity generates enormous wind noise.

So starting with the most important category sound..
The life A2's default 'Soundcore signature' equalisation is V shaped with recessed mids so vocals are less clear than they should be. Happily the buds work with the Soundcore app that allows customisation of EQ, ANC modes and controls, more about which later and I chose a custom flat EQ for the recordings on my Amazon profile YouTube channel over the EQ preset that is labelled flat but actually boosts mids. For listening I also liked the Acoustic preset.
The sound then after EQ is clear with a strong extended and impactful bass, natural mids and an energetic and detailed but not sibilant or harsh treble. Vocals are not quite as clear and detailed as the very best but still very pleasing. At 2:41 of Peter Gabriel's version of Heroes his vocals do not stand proud of the synth and string sounds so much as I would like but are still moving.
Moving on to comfort and security of fit the Life's entire body sits inside your outer ear. The physical earbud design is a slug style like the Sony WF-1000XM3 and Anker Liberty 2 Pro though significantly less bulky and heavy with a smaller body and rubber pinna stabiliser and hence has better fit and stability than either of those two.
They weigh around 6g per side so not too noticeable and the life a2 has security of fit which is confidence inspiring.

The life a2 might make you look like an uber driver but has a much more premium look and feel that innovates its own style rather than doing a bad job trying to imitate something else.

The Anker's controls are limited to a 2s hold and double tap. There's no single tap which I would like to have had so only 4 controls in total from play/pause, skip, volume and ANC mode cycling, though one can configure what they do through the app and they work reliability. I changed my hold to control volume up and down and double tap to control skip forward and back, foregoing a touch play/pause and ANC control, which are then available just from the connected device or Soundcore app.

With the Life A2 NC there is a reassuring IPX5 sweat and rain proof rating. I'm not a fan of the life a2 clamshell case however which allows you to put the right bud into the left pocket when fumbling to put them away in bed at night for example, which you'll only realise when they don't charge and a low battery warning on your phone wakes you up. When in the right way round discrete white lights appear on the buds themselves and the case also has lights to indicate the remaining charge on both it and the buds.
Now the Anker's charging case is big but it's also slim so more pocket friendly though I'm not a fan of the cover over the usb port which for me is just extra hassle removing it when charging.
Connectivity was quick and reliable with both with dropouts only starting through a wall and single bud mode working with either left or right earbud and latency not noticeable on YouTube.
Battery life is good with 7h from a charge, 35 hours total and quick charge via a sealed USB C socket on the Life. Neither have wireless charging.
The mic is also very good on both with both isolating your voice well in a noisy environment.
Moving on to Features there is ANC and ambient or transparency mode so you can hear your surroundings with the earbuds in plus their own app for customising controls. The Anker benefits from Anker's Soundcore app which allows you to bake in a frequency equalisation that remains whichever device you then connect to.
ANC is good for earphones on both, particularly with low frequencies and on a similar par to the leading ANC earphones and much more effective than some like the EarFun Free Pro. Happily unlike the more expensive Liberty Air 2 Pro ANC does not affect frequency response.

In a nutshell then with the Life A2 NC a good clear bass driven sound, once equalised, and good low frequency ANC in a fairly practical and well featured package.
Now if you really do want AirPods Pro then another option is to buy refurbished from around £80 however even at that price the £60 Anker Life A2 NC looks like a good alternative especially for Android users and thise who like a fuller bass in their music.

When I started using these earbuds I had to remind myself to manage my expectations - these are not £200+ earbuds...

However, I was astonished at how good these are!

Fit - brilliant, se use fit. These are quite big earbuds but the silicone wingtip mean that they will not fall out. There are 3 different sizes I the box as well to e sure you get the right fit.

Sound quality - very good, not as good as the really expensive earbuds, but very good. I have found they seem to be quite base heavy, quite similar to the sound profile used by Bose.

Noise cancellation - I was very surprised with how good this was. You can link the earbuds to the Soundcore app. Through this app you can then select "off", "transparent" - which has partial noise cancellation and then full ANC. When this is selected you can then choose indoor, ambient or outdoor. I have used these indoors and it almost completely isolated out aircraft noise and outdoors running and it really effectively isolated road noise.

Overall these are superb earbuds for the price - they are almost on a par with the Sony and Bose offerings at a fraction of the price!

I came from using Sony's noise-cancelling earphones for the past 13 years. I lost of one them but it was hard for me to justify paying a lot when I hardly go out these days. So I thought I'd try something new.

Honestly, I feel that the sound quality isn't as crisp as Sony's. The mids and low dominate the presets. Good thing that there is an equaliser that you customise making this bud worthwhile because I do not like deep bass in my music.

The noise-cancelling function comes in 3 settings and does it job well. The only time that I use NC is during transit whether in a bus or airport or plane.

You really can't compare this to a Sony NC that costs 2 to 3 times more, or at least it's not a fair comparison. You really get what you pay for - which is not a high end product but it's trying. I generally am quite pleased about its noise cancelling, it does its job but I feel something is missing with the noise cancelling - definitely not as good to me compared with Sony, maybe there's a different algorithm used. The quietness/muffled background might disorient some. I only use it while I'm stationary.

One thing I'd wish it have is the AptX ability to play higher quality audio and if it does, it can really be compared to leading brands. Otherwise, for what I paid, it's a fine earphone.

Für mich waren folgende Punkte extrem wichtig! Zunächst mal sollten die Kleinen zwar klein sein aber nicht im Ohr verschwinden und man hat das Gefühl man drückt sie fast in den Gehörgang rein . Sie ragen ein wenig raus und das Mikrofon ist ein wenig den Mund zugewandt und telefonieren ist, zumindest mal im geschlossenen Raum wie in meinem Fall, exzellent und so als würde ich direkt mit meinem Handy telefonieren! In der gut gemachten App kann man Feinheiten noch ändern. Die Bluetooth-Verbindung ist natürlich sehr gut, das Tragegefühl ist sehr komfortabel und für meine, nicht ausgebildeten Ohren ist die Musik wirklich Weltklasse. Man muss auch mal schlichtweg genau gucken für was man ein solches Gerät anschafft! Es soll angenehm im Ohr sein, man hört toll Musik und kann super toll telefonieren. In verschiedenen Rezensionen spielen sich hier Leute auf als wären sie Berufsmusiker und kritisieren wirklich geile Geräte dafür dass der Ton mutmaßlich nicht so toll sei. Hier ist der Ton schlichtweg super klasse und auf hohem Niveau in allen Frequenzen. Jürgen

Nachtrag. Ich habe sie jetzt schon ein wenig in Gebrauch und intensiv benutzt und mit der App gespielt. Ich bin immer noch beeindruckt was man für recht wenig Geld geboten bekommt. Auch dass die in der Halterung magnetisch halten finde ich so durchdacht. Besitze auch die Liberty P2, die auch diese Halterung haben.

* 27-02-2021 : J’éditerai cet avis si j’ai de nouveaux éléments à partager.

Contexte : J’ai pris le temps à me renseigner sur le produit avant de me décider à l’acheter. J’ai par exemple consulté le manuel sur le site de Soundcore et des reviews YouTube (El Jefe et GameSky entre autres) qui parlent du ‘LIFE DOT 2 NC’. J’ai contacté Soundcore par mail qui m’a précisé que le LIFE A2 NC a quelques micros en plus (6 contre 4 au total) et que ce dernier est disponible en ligne (pas l’autre).

Qualité sonore : basses très bonnes et profondes (un de mes critères d'achat), et qui ne font pas mal à mes oreilles. Même sans toucher à l’égalisateur, elles sont très bonnes de base. Peut-être trop puissante quand je n’écoute pas de la musique spécifiquement. Son de bon qualité. Pour info, une fonction ‘Audio Haute Qualité’ est disponible depuis le menu Bluetooth de mon téléphone (pour écouter en AAC).

Ailettes de maintien dans l’oreille (un de mes critères d'achat) : le choix alternatif des tailles (en plus des embouts) est une bonne chose pour assurer le maintien. Pratique quand on a peur de les casser et qu’on est un peu maladroit (comme moi).

ANC / diminution de bruit active (ne m’intéressait pas de base / je n’ai jamais eu ces fonctions auparavant) : les différents modes fonctionnent bien. Pas de décalage entre le son produit et celui transmis dans les écouteurs. La fonction ‘Transport’ attenue bien les bruits dans le tram et de la circulation de la rue (que je déconseille néanmoins pour éviter des accidents quand vous vous déplacerez à pied ou à vélo). Le mode ‘Extérieur’, plutôt pratique loin de la circulation, masque bien le bruit du vent.

Boutons (une de mes craintes) : bonne réactivité et pas besoin d’appuyer fort (c’est comme un écran tactile). Les fonctions ‘double-appui’ et ‘appui 2 secondes’ fonctionnent bien. Malgré les critiques, je trouve plutôt juste que Soundcore n’ai pas créé une fonction ‘appui simple’ (ce serait pénalisant si on vise mal les boutons ou si on les touche par erreur)

Etui : léger mais solide et bien fixé. Aimanté à la fermeture. Petit revêtement en caoutchouc à l’intérieur pour éviter les chocs si les écouteurs se détachent par accident je suppose. Par contre, quand on veut les porter ou les ranger, on doit un peu les tourner dans tous les sens (pas très pratique… demande de la pratique !). Des griffures d’ongles sont déjà visibles sur le boîtier en plastique..

Embout de protection du port USB : va finir par tomber un jour sans doute.

Ecouteurs sans musique : rien à signaler (pas de bruit sourd ou ‘électronique’). Les fonctions ANC peuvent être utilisées / changées, même sans l’application (utile pour s’isoler un peu dans certains environnements).

Distance de fonctionnement : au top ! J’ai mis mon téléphone dans une pièce et me suis placé à un endroit loin où je ne pensais pas ça ne capterai pas : ça fonctionnait impeccablement.

Egalisateur : choix vaste de préréglages. Difficile de trouver un mode pour baisser significativement les basses (même manuellement).

App ‘Soundcore’ (un de mes critères) : mise à jour dispo dès la 1ère utilisation. Personnalisation des boutons appréciable. Possible de définir soi-même quand les écouteurs (déconnectés d’un appareil) s’éteignent (5, 10, 30 ou 60 minutes, ou pas du tout). Possibilité d’activer la tonalité des touches (pratique pour savoir si on a réussi une manipulation).

Widget : permet de voir le niveau de batterie de chaque écouteur et de switcher rapidement entre les 3 modes ANC (et leurs sous-modes). Pratique pour s’adapter rapidement à l’environnement. Mais nécessite d’ouvrir l’App une 1ère fois pour fonctionner après l’appairage.

Appairage : rapide et optimal dès l’ouverture du boitier. Le Bluetooth se coupe bien dès que les écouteurs sont rangés et que la boîte est fermée. Pas possible de les connecter plusieurs appareils en même temps pour info.

Décalage audio-vidéo : imperceptible après quelques tests (je repréciserai plus tard si besoin, je remarque généralement ce genre de chose avec le temps)

Volume : généralement suffisant autour de 60%

Micros : pas terribles, pas assez puissants même en élevant la voix (mais pas un critère d’achat pour moi)

Charge, recharge et autonomie : les avis et tests sur internet semblaient positif comparé à ce que Soundcore annonçait. Je repréciserai si besoin. Le niveau de batterie s’affiche sur mon téléphone.

At last I've found a pair of wireless earphones that feels secure in my ears. I've always struggled with earphones (even wired ones) fitting and staying securely in my ears but this fits perfectly. I love the sound and I've even recommended it to others because they're on the lookout for a good pair as well. I love the little case and the magnetic element to the earphones and the case so you put the earphones in the case, and it more or less just snaps into place. I've only charged the case/earphones once (they charge through the case) and I've been using the earphones for a few hours over the past 3 days. So that's pretty good and I don't regret spending the money on them. At least I've spent on something that will last me for a longer period of time than normal and the sound is the best on any earphones I've had so far (that bass!) Oh and it's easy to change the controls using the app, so all in all, a fantastic purchase!

Bought these to replace some Bose Free Soundsport ear buds that would only last 25 mins on a charge (2 years old). And although I’ve really liked the Bose ear buds, I’m really pleased I chose these.

I’ve liked Anker products for a few years now - mainly phone accessories, but having bought my wife some similar ear buds (Soundcore Life P2) at Christmas to use while jogging, I was confident these would be good. And they really are.

I use them for both listening to music while running outdoors and watching movies on my train commute. Great for both.

Compared to the Bose pair, they block out way more background noise, they also have active noise cancellation, you can use either bud as a singleton and both earphones work during a phone call (vice right ear only with the Bose) and the sound is a lot clearer. And if that wasn’t enough, they’re MUCH cheaper.

If I had to pick a fault, it’s that I can’t easily identify which ear each bud goes in by looking at them. Same for putting them into the charging case. L and R are written on them, but still quite hard to see. I’m probably just a biffa, so don’t be put off!

Look for an Amazon flash discount and you can multiply the value for money. These are brilliant ear buds.
