Zonder Nederlandse stekker en geen 2 meter

Gekocht als kerstcadeau voor mijn zoon, maar 1 grote deceptie. Het begon met het feit dat hier geen Nederlandse stekker bij zit. Dit betekent dat je een verloopstekker nodig hebt. Vervolgens blijkt de ledstrip geen 2 meter te zijn, maar iets van 1,40m. Wat een oplichterij. Pas op, niet kopen!

Positiv zu erwähnen sind Philips typisch die durchdachte Verpackung und wie bei allen HUE Leuchtmitteln die satten & hellen Farben.

Nur was die sich bei dem angebrachten doppelseitigen Klebeband gedacht haben bleibt mir ein Rätsel.
Zum einen ist das gestückelt aufgebracht, kein Teil länger als 8 cm. Und dann klebt dieses Band an der Trägerfolie besser als auf dem Lichtschlauch.
Und zu guter letzt hält es nicht mal mehr ordentlich, der Schlauch löst sich dauern davon ab.

Das war mal absolut nix und verbaut ein ansonsten hervorragendes Produkt.

Ich mein, der Schlauch ist relativ Preisintensiv im Vergleich zu anderen Mitbewerbern und da ist es nicht möglich ein ordentliches Doppelseitigen Klebeband anzubringen. Traurig.

Wenn bei allen neuen Produkten so gespart wird, überlege ich es mir in Zukunft 2x was zu kaufen oder weiter zu empfehlen.

Disappointing Compared to LIFX Lightstrip - Returned

I bought this Lightstrip because I had some difficulties with Wi-Fi range on a LIFX product. Although the setup of the Hue app and hub was much easier than LIFX I was very disappointed in the quality and output of the light by comparison.

I use lightstrips behind a computer monitor as a backlight for my home office and the quality of the LIFX light is beautiful. The Hue has very dull and unexciting light compared to the vibrancy of the LIFX. It's a shame, but once I'd got used to LIFX LEDs there was no going back for me. This is a shame because the physical quality of the Hue and ease of use with the app, hub and Wi-Fi setup was superb.

I am now waiting for the new generation of LIFX products to be released for my next purchase.

Painful installation and overpriced

The Philips Hue lightstrips are wonderful in terms of integration into a Hue setup, but the physical hardware suffers from seriously dumb design flaws. I'm glad that I experimented with a cheaper extension rather than the main strip first but these comments apply to both.

First of all, the pins on the v4 lightstrips are ridiculously small, and fragile. You can connect the extension directly to the end of another light strip, but the problem is that there is no locking mechanism, so as you're putting things into place or measuring it up, it has a tendency to pop apart. Result - bent pins. The pins are so thin that they will snap off from fatigue from even a small bend. Things seem to work better if you use the included flexible cable, but then you'll get a large gap in light output.

Second, the lightstrip is not waterproof, yet Philips/Signify decided to cover it in a silicone cover, which makes it impossible to manipulate it around corners. You simply cannot turn the strip around a 90 degree corner in any sensible way. It is literally impossible to do so in an aluminium channel because the Hue strips are wider than standard, and the only wide crown channels suitable for it do not have enough height to allow the strip to sit at an angle. Oh yeah, there's only one channel on the market which fits the Hue strips, on account of them being so bulky.

I tried the suggested option of folding twice to turn the corner, taking care to do it where there weren't any components. This seemed to work fine, up until the point I tried to fit it into the aluminium channel - again, simply doesn't fit - too tall. Unfolded it, thinking I'd cut out some of the silicone cover to make it smaller, but didn't even get that far because after unfolding, the soldered joint just before the cut marks has breaks in it.

The full lightstrips come with a joining section in the box, but that only allows you to connect two cut ends together. And the joining section is so bulky that it no longer fits inside aluminium channels, so that's useless too. Because it only connects cut ends together, you can't even bypass a broken section if it's at the start of end of a run, because you don't have the necessary male/female connector included.

Think you can avoid those issues by not using an aluminium channel and diffuser? Fine, but the LEDs are so widely spaced that you end up a very patchy colour. Even under a cabinet with a matt coloured floor, the individual LED locations were clearly visible.

The light output suffers from the usual Hue PWM flicker at certain brightness levels. It's not up to the level of a cheap laptop screen, but it's noticeable on shiny surfaces if you look around the room (e.g. a knife edge). For the price of the Hue lights, I would expect no PWM flicker at all. TP-Link manage it for half the price, so why not Philips/Signify? (this is something I can see on literally every Hue bulb)

In short, the whole lightstrip system is a flawed product, which needed to have more thoughtinto how people would install it in a neat manner. The colours are nice and vibrant, and the association with the Hue hub went as flawless as usual. I'd happily pay for a Hue controller which works with standard RGBW strips.

After installing this light strip and the extensions here are my observations. The LEDs are too far apart, the adhesive is sticky but fails shortly after being applied. The light strip is a little flexible, but don’t expect it to hold tight bends. The connectors cannot be locked so the joint connection will fall out. You only get i connector for joining 2 pieces if light strip together and you CANNOT buy extra ones. Philips in there stupidity do not supply spare parts for any Hue product. You are forced into buying a whole extension piece just to extend your light strip, even though you have lots of off cuts.
I does connect to your iPhone and IPad easily and the colour range is ok. The light strip is ok if you use it in a straight line.
Do not buy this if you are not in the Hue eco system.
There are far better options on the market.

Poor quality but nothing better on the market

Unfortunately, unlike every other Hue product I have purchased, these are very poor quality. I have had 3 now in 1 week and either the LED’s have failed almost instantly in the section near the control brick, or have had non-uniform brightness and colour. I really hope this is just a batch issue as I would love to purchase this item again, as it works seamlessly with the Hue bridge and is super quick to respond and the colour intensity and brightness is impressive.

I really like how you can cut these down to size but can then also reconnect the cut section with the included adapter.

Overall a very nice product on paper but very poor quality in reality.

Terrible adhesive strips and flexibility, Alexa control stopped after 2 months

First out of box, tried fitting which was absolute hell. I took the covers off the adhesive strips and then realised that it ended up pulling off the other side of the adhesive which was stuck to the lights so now I have a problem of having to push them back onto my desk every few hours or they fall off.

Next is after 2 months they stopped working with Alexa, they are directly controlled through Alexa without a hue bridge but it worked fine until randomly Alexa can't connect to them after trying every solution so I've had to give up.

The light is the only actual good part of the product, good brightness and themes, colours etc. but overall very very poor with faults for the insane price they are. Would recommend picking up a cheaper brand as its not worth the hassle.

Great lights, let down by awful adhesive tape

The LEDs are great, the work really well with the rest of the Hue Ecosystem. The sticky tape provided on the back is awful, just peeled off (from the light strip, not the surface!) after a few minutes of being stuck... I've had to order new adhesive tape - I'm only sticking this to the back of a TV so it's not like it has particularly demanding adhesive requirement. A good product let down by a bad customer experience due to the adhesive tape.

For the price, these lights are pants! I strongly recommend saving some pennies and buying from a company such as Govee - they have way more option and their shape light can actually be shaped!

These were fine but we were pretty disappointed to learn that we’d also have to buy the Phillips hub to be able to turn them on and off on both my husband’s phone and my phone. If we’d known we’d probably gone with a different brand but we’d thrown away the box by the time we’d realised.

Product is great however do not buy from Amazon warehouse.

One light is covered in pubic hair and inside the box.

I ordered 4 colour lights. 3 of them are just white.

That last product doesn’t have the fittings to install.

People have clearly returned and swapped out the products. Disgusted with the products that have arrived from Amazon. Will never buy from warehouse again.
