Incredible case!

This case, quite simply, is incredible.

I fell from my motorbike on Monday night, doing 70mph on a dual carriageway wearing full kit. My Galaxy S10 was in this case and inside my front trouser pocket.

My top notch protective clothes are wrecked (see pictures), my boots, helmet, and gloves are all wrecked.

My mobile was ejected from my pocket during my roll down the road and the case protected my phone through the whole ordeal. See the pictures for damage sustained on my handset.

For the current purchase price of £19.99 this case is an absolute steal.

I discovered my first ever OtterBox case almost 10 years ago when I accidently bought one for my old Blackberry. I immediately fell in love with the case (it was the Commuter series) as it looked incredible and was made of the most premium plastic I'd ever felt on a case. Back then, this was a big deal as I was relatively poor with little money and my most prized possession, and only possession of any real value was my Blackberry. Since that day, the only case I've ever used is OtterBox on any phone or tablet that I've owned.

I don't know what it is but lately, and over the past 2 years or so, every single OtterBox case I've purchased has been garbage. Whether iPhone, Samsung etc. - the quality has been very poor and the feel of the cases isn't the same anymore.

I recently bought a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and immediately went to buy this case, but also the Commuter Series and the Symmetry Series. This was due to my past bad experiences with OtterBox and the fact that I had hope that either one of them would be great and I could return the other two, or even keep them handy.

But all 3 cases were garbage. The Defender case is loose on the phone. It clicks every time I move the phone and I don't know whether it would scratch my phone over time, or even fall out. Plus the clips were really, really loose on the front cover.

So I tried the Commuter Series and because of the size of my phone, and the fact that the top is only covered by a small piece of plastic (the rest is rubber), every time I put my phone in my jeans pocket, when I pulled it out, the case would come off the phone and my phone fell on the floor once - luckily on carpet and a very small distance. There is a serious design flaw here.

Finally tried the Symmetry Series and the camera is higher than the case, so if I put the phone on the table the camera glass would touch the surface! But this was only in one corner, it's as if the case was slanted somehow inside.

On top of that, the quality of the plastic is now very bad in the Defender and also the Commuter. Only the Symmetry is good quality plastic but the case was flawed!

Given that this is not a random event, due to the number of cases I've tried, I can only assume that something is wrong at the factory. Either the business has grown so quickly that quality control is no longer a priority, or there have been some forms of cost reductions in the manufacturing process.

I'm really disappointed because OtterBox was always my "go to" but now it has to be the new brand - Mous. Check out their cases, they are incredible.

Although, sadly, and for some weird reason, I'll always yearn for an OtterBox - perhaps nostalgia or perhaps because I had such a reliable experience with the brand once upon a time.

I hope that they fix the quality control issues.

Screen was damaged when inserted into Otterbox Defender case. Overall the s21 ultra is great, but the factory mounted screen protector came off at 3 places, when I inserted my s21 ultra into the Otterbox Defender case. I would not blame the case for that - Otterbox is excellent quality and have protected many phones for me, and survived many drops. I would say the factory mounted screen protector on the s21 ultra, should come with a warning - probably some vaseline on the phone, before inserted into the otterbox case would have prevented the screen damage. But I am still very happy with my s21 ultra extra protected by otterbox, excellent call quality on slack, zoom, teams, and works perfect with 2 nano sim cards inserted. Otterbox makes sure my phone survives a lot of drops, so a little cosmetic damage to screen is fine.

I've bought Otterbox Defender cases for a long time and always been impressed with them - my phones have emerged after years of use looking like new.

Except I don't think this will happen with my latest phone as there's now no screen protector built into the Otterbox.

How can you make a case like the Defender without a screen protector? All my previous Otterbox Defender cases have had a screen protector and this has been a major feature to keep out dust and grit (and even pocket fluff).

Big disappointment Otterbox, bring back the screen protector!

Beware.
Anyone who has had he otterbox defender series will know they are quite expensive, very sturdy and of a high quality in manufacturing.
Unfortunately this is not the case for its current galaxy note 20 ultra 5g case.I recently bought one from amazon and it somehow broke after only a few weeks of use.The retaining clip for the holster has been redesigned and instead of a flat plastic bar there are now two small pinhead retaining clips.Also there is no front plastic screen cover as with previous models.The phone is also quite loose in the belt holster which doesn't inspire confidence. Having previously had six or so defender series cases, I found this made in china one of low quality.I will continue to use the replacement Amazon supplied and see how long this one lasts. I will also be looking for a better more robust one as I fear its replacement is not going to last!!? Time will tell

I have used otterboxes for years and never had a reason to doubt that come the apocalypse, there will be cockroaches and my phone still ticking. They are put together in a way that you have total faith your phone will be ok in most situations. As each layer goes on you feel like a warrior donning armour. My only complaint with this model is it has no screen protection apart from the raise edge of the case itself. Every other model I used has an inbuilt screen protector to stop scratches on the glass but this doesnt. It isnt a deal breaker as I got a separate one that works ok. Would have just been nice to know before I bought it. It might say somewhere in the description but I just assumed it would.

"Premium phone case" yeah OK

I can't upload the photos right now but I have had the case on since day one of my s20 ultra and today I took the case off to clean it and found that the corners and sides of the aluminium housing are all scratched from dirt getting through the case and rubbing. This is not good enough for a premium £40 phone case as this has now damaged the possible resale price of my device. Have always had cheap cases however thought I'd take better care of this device since breaking my last.
The fitment is great, at first. Now everyday I find myself having to clip the rubber outer layer back in place as this is a stretch fit that doesn't tighten back up. Heard great things about this brand but I simply can't recommend based on my own experiences, should've gone with the mous case instead.

Phone Broke in my pocket. Genuine Review.

I fitted this to a brand new galaxy note 20 ultra and the phone broke in my pocket! I'm really disappointed as I bought this as a premium product, rather than an eBay knock off.
The phone lasted about 2 weeks max. There is a hard plastic lug on either side where the (flipping mahoosive) belt clip mounts. Those seem to have pressed into the rounded galaxy edge bit of the screen, which has cracked. No word of a lie, I put the phone in my pocket fine, took it out half an hour later and it was cracked. OK, so clearly I must have leant on something, or squeezed it, something like that but I am still surprised and disappointed.
I previously had Spigen cases which were no better / worse but less than half the price.
Really unimpressed considering the hype and money. 😕

Bought this as I've had Otterboxes for all my phone's, I don't mind paying the high prices for them as they have completely protected my phone's over years. However this new phone case is nowhere near what I expect from this company. Firstly if you are expecting the screen protected front of an otter box, you won't get it with this the s10 version. This is due to the design of the s10 and the fingerprint technology. There is no protection for the screen. The edges of the otterbox are only raised at the top and bottom and not on the sides, this means a slimmer look phone but if you happen to drop this on the side, I can't help but think it's goodbye screen. The case fits snuggly as you'd expect but no where near what I'd expect from this company. Will be returning as soon as I can work out how to do that with Amazon. Do not buy.
