I have used otterboxes for years and never had a reason to doubt that come the apocalypse, there will be cockroaches and my phone still ticking. They are put together in a way that you have total faith your phone will be ok in most situations. As each layer goes on you feel like a warrior donning armour. My only complaint with this model is it has no screen protection apart from the raise edge of the case itself. Every other model I used has an inbuilt screen protector to stop scratches on the glass but this doesnt. It isnt a deal breaker as I got a separate one that works ok. Would have just been nice to know before I bought it. It might say somewhere in the description but I just assumed it would.

Agree with first review.
Not a complaint as the level of protection is amazing.
However yes the top layer does ruin the pre-installed screen protector and this should be addressed before getting to the user.

Otherwise best case there is. Had already purchased the Spigen Tough Armour case. Unfortunately that case been redesigned for this phone and there is little side screen protection.

This otterbox defender is amazing for that and if you put the holster in front you have 360 degree protection. The rear cut-out is also raised several mm not just one or two so superior protection for the hefty camera block on the back.

I've had this case for nearly a year now. I switch back and forth between this case and my other ones and like it a lot. As someone who has used Otterbox for many years and for many phones, I of course immediately purchased this case after getting my Note 8. I only have 2 issues with it. The first being what everyone else seems to complain about. The lack of a built in screen protector. I know a lot of people seem to believe the lack of built in screen protector is due to the unique shape of the Note 8's screen, however I have other cases for my Note 8 with built in screen protectors that work just fine, so I'm not sure why they felt the need to exclude it. The Defender series is known for their built in screen protectors and is specifically why I always get them for my phones. My other complaint is with the plastic snap on part of the case that goes on before the outer rubber part. Since this case has no built in screen protector, I've had to purchase a separate one to apply to my screen. The plastic part of this case is so snug that it pushes up against my screen protector, causing bubbles around the edge and worst case, causing it to peel away from my phone. The only way to avoid this is to spend an excessive amount of time snapping the plastic part on in a way where it evenly presses down on the whole screen. Not an easy task with such a big phone, and I often have to do it a few times to get it right. Aside from that, once I do manage to get the case on without disturbing my screen protector, it is a good solid case which my phone feels very protected in. It covers all the way around the phone and feels very comfortable in my hand. It has good grip on the back so I'm never worried about it slipping out of my hand. I would definitely trust this case in a drop.

Had an S8 in the defender case for two years and didn't hesitate to buy the S10 version when I got a new phone. However, two years has seen the quality of products used decline in my opinion. The plastic holster for me is the main reason for buying the case, it adds screen protection and drop protection too... the plastic on the S10 version is coarser and feels cheap compared to the S8 version and I can envision it cracking if dropped.
Good points: holds phone securely, main case is strong, all buttons work just fine.
Bad points: holster feels cheap. Seems bulkier than previous models.
Over all, a good buy. Previous phone was dropped several times onto concrete and no damage. No regrets buying this but the holster is not as good.

Really good solid phone case.
Personally I was slightly disappointed that the clip on the back doesn't disconnected separately, and to take it off means taking off an entire layer of the extra case.
That being said, even with the basic case without the extra clip surround on the quality and sturdiness is brilliant and I feel as though my new phone is well protected.
The other main downside is although the case raises above the screen around the edges, there s no actual screen protection. It would've been extra nice to know the screen is fully protected, which is the main reason I've given 4 stars and not 5.
Overall a good product which I trust and it's a perfect fit.

I've always used Otterbourne cases and this one doesn't disappoint. I purchased it for my Samsung S20 and its a perfect fit. It's a good quality case that doesn't feel to cumbersome on the phone. It comes in 3 sections, the back cover, the frame that holds the back cover in place and rubber cover which offers good protection. There are openings for all the ports and the volume and off buttons function well when in the case.Please not there is no screen protection with this case. If your going to have a great phone buy a great case its definitely worth the money.

Battle-Case although not wet proof

The Otterbox Defender provides excellent protection and has saved my Iphone6 many times over. Dropped countless times and also thrown from a bike at 30kph several times without a scratch and without damage to the case. It has a solid construction and has a good grip even in the wet/cold. The front protection/clip is a superb addition allowing it to be clipped to belt/backpack in protected or screen view orientation. The port covers are good and easy to operate. The finger print recognition also works without problems. The downside (apart from the slim Iphone 6 now looking/feeling like a brick - not an issue imo) is that there is some sensitivity loss on the screen due to cover and the water does get underneath the screen cover if used in the rain (due to cut-out for forward camera). Mine has been going for over a year of constant use - love it.

Would have given this 5 stars if the first delivery had notified me via the text update system.
The product itself is excellent as is the genuine article, very well built, nice touch to the screen compared to Griffin Survivor case it is replacing.
I have used Otterbox products for years and every item I have had them on has looked brand new years later.
Survived some serious drops, knocks and falls as I work in the Mobile telecoms industry so it has various phones and tablets have been dropped from some serious heights with no damage to the phone and little or no damage to the phone.

Excellent protection around the phones back and side areas. the inside back area even has some memory foam like padding. the case definitely adds extra cumbersomeness and small hands may struggle to use the phone whilst its encased. wireless charging is hit and miss with only periodic moments of connection being established if at all. taking off the outer rubber of the casing does fix this but its fiddly to put back on and can be a time waster.
if you have big hands and dont care about wireless charging tho, this is a no brainer.

Had an otterbox on my old S5 for 8 years now so I can certainly vouch for the product quality. HOWEVER, this version does NOT FIT a Galaxy S21 FE 5G people so be warned. Also, my old one had a screen protector built into the phone case which this one dissapointingly doesn't. Had to ask for a refund and source the correct version for my phone which takes time. Ho hum
