Well designed skipping rope

I like this, it feels high quality: metal handles, smooth bearings, nice feeling cord. Weighs 425g, of which about 190g is in the handles, so a reasonably heavy cord. The good thing about this is that flies a bit slower than the speed rope I had before and the weight means it keeps a better rhythm and gives more feedback to your hands to keep track of its position. As a result, I went from being able to do only about 30 skips with the old one before messing up, to easily doing over a minute on about my 5th attempt. Don't suppose it'll be easy to use for double unders etc due to the weight, but for all the people who just want to learn to skip for basic cardio it's great.

I chose the cotton cord, don't know if it will suffer with use, but it does come fitted with a short rubber sleeve that protects the middle of it from the ground/feet.

Length-wise it was fine for me without shortening. I'm just under 6'2, if you're taller this might not be long enough for you.

Good heavy rope, great for double unders and general rope trickery. Great length too. I'm 6' 7" and often struggle to find long enough ropes but this one was probably too long by default if I'm honest, so 100% recommend for tall people.
Price was a bit higher than I might have liked but the construction and material quality seem good so far (bearing in mind that this is only one day in).
All in all I'd say if, like me, you don't want to shell out for a cross rope or some other such massively overpriced rope this is easily the best alternative I've found so far. Oh and it's really easy to adjust and doesn't require you to cut anything which is a bonus since that means you can share it if need be which would probably be good for smaller gyms or martial arts classes.

Excellent rope. First few skips I was out of sync getting used to it. The rope was much heavier that the leather one and wore my arms out at first due to the rope weight.
Once you get into it, skip all day if the cv sys can hold it. Cross overs and side swings a doddle.
I read a review about double under not poss. I flicked the rope quick and was doing them with ease. Might even try trebles.
This is a top rope, well made and well designed. The leather rope tangled and twisted. This one, no bother. Didn't twist once.
Love using it.

This thing is amazing. The added weight provides a lot of feedback and works the upper body a lot more. It's quite stiff, so maybe not the best option for tricks and the like. This thing is a complete workout tool.

It's durable too. It's seen a minimum of 30mins a day use on concrete outdoors and has a ton of scuffs across the middle, but after a month of use, I have zero fear of it breaking.

The handles are made of a hollow metal cylinder which can unscrew at either end to allow you to adjust the length of the rope or add weights to get an even more challenging workout. They have a nice rubber grip, which I wish was bigger but does the job.

This is recommended for all levels of experience of all you're interested in is the exercise, the stiffness of the rope makes it not the best for tricks

I absolutely love how easy it is to adjust the length, there is a special mechanism within the handles that just screw open.

I wanted to give myself an extra challenge. I've been skipping now for about 3 months and was ready to take it to the next level.

I'm assuming the weight will help tone my arms a bit more. It's definitely more difficult to skip with, hopefully I get better with time.

Well presented in a really nice pouch for carrying it to the gym/boxing club in.

The boys up there are already trying to swipe it. So I know it's good.
I told them go to amazon, get your own one.

Use 4 or 5 times a week for around 20 minutes per session, outside on concrete. Comes with a little rubber cowl to protect the middle of the rope from fraying but to be honest the quality would hold up even without it as far as I can tell. The weight does take some getting used to so my advice would be to persevere despite how much you will whip yourself in the legs/back of your head to start off with when transitioning from a normal speed rope. Pretty easy to adjust though I would suggest not trying to use scissors to cut as there is a metal wire running through the core. Handles are good quality but would probably benefit from the rubber bits being glued down as they tend to slip with extended use. Overall pretty pleased for the money, will be moving up a weight soon.

At first, I was too quick to buy a rope from another competitor. It was too light, flimsy and hard to get any rhythm with.

I bought this a couple of days after and what a difference. Having some sense of where the rope is feeding back into the routine makes such a difference I wouldn't underestimate this.

Just buy it, you won't regret it.

Wow. I have been using a good quality skipping rope for over two years now and thought I would up the ante by investing in a heavier rope; what a difference! I cannot skip for anywhere near as long, it gives the cardiovascular system a good workout, plus places additional strain on the arms - great piece of kit.

In terms of this rope itself, it came in a nice carry bag, the handles feel premium and well made, the bearings give an exeptionally smooth skipping action, and the rope itself is barely wearing (I use it outside, but with a mat). Altering the length of the rope was an easy process, the screw sections of the handles coming off easily - again indicating a well machined construction, then a few minutes to adjust, cut if necessary, and screw the caps back on.

I am 1.85m tall and adjusting this for my height meant that even using the available space in the handles, I still had to cut off section of the rope, so it should be long enough for most people.

Overall a great piece of kit - wish I had bought one ages ago!

I bought this after trying out skipping for cardio, I previously had a regular 9-foot long rope from Sports Direct - it served its purpose but didn't provide a workout I was looking for. This, however, hits a lot harder and surprised me at how much it tired me out given it only weighs a pound.

It's sturdy and is easy to adjust, however, you'll need to be careful as once you've cut the rope you can't go back, so take small bits off at a time, and make sure you screw the adjuster properly otherwise it may come loose - this happened once before which led to the rope coming out and almost hit someone at the gym (this was due to my carelessness in fairness).

I recommend this rope for sure, skipping is a great cardio workout and this elevated the effectiveness of it.

Awesome jump rope at this price. The rope is very well made and moves great when skipping. It’s got a bottom guard to protect the rope and I’ve also cut a little off it to size which was easy. I would recommend rather than cutting it to tie a knot in the rope to make the length shorter but that thought came to me after I had cut it.
