Twice, by using Google Pixel cases, my 4 and 5 have suffered damage as the bottom part of the case is open. This Otter box is a completely different kettle of fish - complete protection and stylish to boot. Warning - the controls (on/off and volume) require gorilla fingers. Had to scrap it - I couldn't select the camera with the two quick clicks of the one/off button. I use that a lot so for me it's no good. But it's still great protection.

Corner clips break very easily. The rubber corner elements have two different sides!

Warning:
The rubber corner elements have two different sides: "L" and "S". If you use the "L" side, it sets the fans 1 mm further away from the case for "maximum possible decoupling". Make sure to get this orientation right! Once you install the corners, consider them permanently attached: ideally do not try to remove and reattach them. (See below for details.)

Pros:
The rubber mounting option is a great idea. The plastic pins hold them securely, and these fans are very quiet and have great performance. Once the rubber corners are on, the fans are easy to install and remove. This part of the fan is very well designed indeed.

Cons:
The instructions provide a way to remove the corner elements even after they have been installed, but I would advise against removing them, because the retainer clip is very difficult to unlock without breaking. Out of the four rubber corners I removed I have broken two of the plastic "latching lugs" that were holding them in place. One of them broke off completely, the other one stayed on but it is not functional anymore. The plastic is terrible quality. If you do decide to remove them, apply the gentlest possible downward force, and apply most of the force for the sideways motion of the corner.

I got this on amazon warehouse For £7.60 instead of the £20 or so it’s normally priced at. It took a bit longer delivery wise but sooner than originally stated so that was a bonus. It was unboxed & wrapped in a plastic wrapper. It arrived with a few other items but it was un damaged & looks perfect. I have smashed 3 iPhone 6splus screens by dropping them. I wanted a full body one ideally but I got tired of reading such mixed reviews On here-all good reviews seemed incredibly similar & to be honest, fake. Otter box seem to have a good rep. Overall this is very durable & seems a good case so far. I do need a screen protector but I don’t like the tempered glass ones, they cause more harm. It does also make the phone easier for me to hold as the phone alone is really hard to keep in my hands & I like that this makes it bigger. It is however, a very plain, black case. End of. Fancy, it aint. I’d recommend though. Does the trick

Poor longevity

Had an S5 with an Otterbox case very similar to this one and it lasted around 6 or 7 years and was still in one piece when I swapped to an S10 Plus so I had no reservations about buying another Otterbox. But this one has lasted maybe.. 2 years before the rubber became detached from the hard plastic case, sarching out and not wanting to sit tight against the side of the phone, making it impossible to press the buttons on the side and it just being awkward in general. Bit disappointed after how good the previous Otterbox I had was. But maybe this one was just due to poor glue or something because the plastic case held up fine. Just the rubber lining that ruined it.

Bought a few cases for an S10 as i've always used Spigen and this was a recommended one. The case feels quite smooth which and is similar to most other cases in that there is no lip on the side of the case. The most frustrating thing is that there's a cable tie that secures the case to the packaging so you can't mount it on your phone to see if you like it. I kept the Spigen as it was cheaper as well....

I thought maybe it was just me, looks like it's a common fault. On the otterbox symmetry the rubbers have come off. Had a nasty drop where the phone was dropped on the charging port side and it lifting the screen from that side, broke the screws. Luckily the home button was still OK so I could transplant it onto a new glass.

This is not as durable as the otterbox defender, which is the one I wanted. The amazon listing is confusing and I ordered the wrong one by mistake. Luckily amazon offered me a full refund, not exchange so I can now order the defender.

Pictures & video misleading.

The pictures and video gave me the impression there was a back AND front cover. In the video you clearly see the words "protects screen" and some of the pictures show two parts. It's not till you look really closely at the pictures that you see it's a picture of the same part twice!
So all this covers is the back and sides of your phone. You have to buy a separate screen protector if you need the front covering too and yet another protector if you want to protect the camera lenes!
That said, the sides and back are well protected with nice quality sturdy plastic that is easy to fit (or remove if you need)
Overall I like the cover, but think the pictures and video could be more "honest".

I love Otterbox cases. My daily driver case has been the defender for longer than I can remember. I've bought dozens of other cases for more social situations and had expected this to be perfect for such times.

It's a clear case. It shows fingerprints. It's a bit slippy. It's hard to get off, but not in the good way and it pretty much has bland written all over it. It's okay, it's just not the quality I've come to expect from Otterbox.

Not Otterbox's best case

I've been using Otterbox cases for years, since my old Samsung S6 in fact, and always found them sturdy and reliable. I usually go for the commuter series as its slimmer but doesn't compromise on protection.
I went for this clear case for my A50 as the iridescent colour on the back of the phone is so brilliant I didn't want to obscure it!
It's a solid case and the phone feels projected. Unlike other Otterbox cases this one is a single unit; no inner soft case with hard outer shell.
The plastic is very stiff and brittle and getting the phone in and out of the case has been problematic, to the point where I felt I might break it by forcing it - that's 1 star off for me..
The second star removed is because the case is supposed to have "anti-yellowing material", this is not true, mine has degraded rapidly to a light brown/yellow after just over a month, it hasn't been exposed to inordinate amounts of daylight either.
Nice case, but I'm considering getting a standard commuter series now as I don't like the yellowing and I want the ability to get the phone in and out of the case without any hassle.

Updating this December 2020 to say that the original signs of wear are still there and have only got slightly worse in the time I’ve used the case. I’ve had it on since writing this review originally and it had protected my phone marvellously so I’m updating my review from a 2-star to a 3-star. Still not impressed that it started to deteriorate as quickly as it did though.

Would have given this a 5/5, however I’ve only been using the case for around 2-3 weeks and already it’s showing lots of signs of wear and tear (things that other cases don’t tend to show until a good 12 months of heavy use). This is really disappointing and this costs so much more than I’d normally spend on a phone case, and it seems that I should stick with the cheaper alternatives as they are made to last longer. Such a shame as it’s very good at protecting my phone, however will soon become unfit for purpose within one or two months at the rate it is deteriorating at currently.
