This is my first ever Amazon review, but I loved this product so much that I felt I had to share my experience! I bought this out of sheer desperation simply for the “ok to wake” function. My 18 month old had been waking between 5 and 6am for over 6 months, and literally nothing I did helped him sleep any later. We already had a cheap white noise machine, so when I first heard of this product, I balked at the price, thinking I didn’t need it for the other features. I first purchased a cheaper “ok to wake” product, but found it difficult to operate, and poorly designed and made. I finally purchased the Hatch Rest, thinking if it didn’t work out, at least Amazon would let me return it.

Now, I had serious doubts about my 18 month old’s ability to understand and abide by the “ok to wake” concept. But mom needs a little time to herself in the morning, so I was willing to give it a shot despite my reservations. The beauty of this product is the app and Bluetooth capability. I set the clock for 6am the first night and told my son that when the light turned green in the morning, he could get up for the day. For the record, my 18 month old can only say about 10 words... but he seems to comprehend a lot. The next morning, he woke at 5:30. I wasn’t about to let him cry for 30 long minutes, so I opened the app, changed the wake up time to 5:35, and then when the light turned on, went into his room and did a big dramatic wake up. I said, “look, your light is green, that means it’s time to wake up!” I then turned on the lights, threw open the curtains... made a big deal of it. Over the next few days, I gradually set the clock back little by little, and he started sleeping a little later each day. After a week, I was able to set the clock to 7:30 (my ideal wake up time for him). He woke the first few days a little earlier, and I would just tell him through the baby monitor talk function that his light wasn’t green, and I kid you not— he laid down and went back to sleep until the light came on. Now if he wakes a few minutes early, he just plays in his crib and waits for the light. I can’t believe that this worked, but it did. And now I feel like I have to spread the word!

I actually loved this so much, that I bought a 2nd one for my 3 year old. He loves it. He plays in his room until his light comes on at 7:30, and also stays in his room to play or look at books during “quiet time” in the afternoon. He loves choosing a nightlight color and sound on the app every night. I truly cannot say enough positive things about this product... try it!

Love our Hatch. So convenient to turn on the nightlight and sound while we are watching tv. When we bring the sleeping baby into the room it is dimly lit with sound already playing. Unbelievable colour choices and great sound quality. Customer service is top notch. They reply to you within an hour or 2. Every time it turns on it runs a diagnostic scan. Hatch contacted me to say the scan showed our audio was a bit off ( I couldn’t tell) they sent us a new one free of charge. I repeat.....they contacted me and said we are sending you a new one because the diagnostic scan is reporting an error. Like I said, great customer service. Buy with confidence.

This is the second Hatch sound machine I have purchased. I have one in my 2 year olds room and have recently purchased a second one for my impending baby's bedroom. I love this machine. Such a variety of noises and light colours and so easy to use. We live in a neighbourhood with lots of noisy dogs and loud neighbours and I love that I can increase the volume to drown out these back ground noises if neccessary. I love that you can control it via app so I dont even have to go in to my sons room to turn the noise or light up or down. The black charging cable (for Australia) that i received with my second Hatch is so much smaller and more convenient than the international charger I recieved with the first one about a year ago. So that's a great improvement, thank you. I'm also tempted to get the one for adults. Would definitely recommend for constant white noise and it plugs straight into the wall so no need to constantly change batteries.

I love that I can set a schedule so when we come in with baby to put them down it's already doing it's thing and it helps cue baby to fall asleep within minutes of going in the bedroom! We have it set to waves and red light for sleep.. I think it will be helpful if we ever need to sleep elsewhere to set the sleep environment baby is used to.
Then when I wake up for night time feeds I just switch to white light, from my phone, so I have enough light to tend to baby but it's not so bright that it keeps my partner awake(which my lamp did).
Really love it! Highly recommend.

Absolutley LOVE this product!!! It has so many great features packed into one aesthetically pleasing little light!

I like clean/modern looking baby products and that is what initially caught my eye. Although, the price is what made me hold off on buying at first.

Once I took into consideration that not only is it a sound machine with all sorts of different options to choose from, as well as a nightlight with many colors to choose from, but it can also work as a wake up/night time light for your child eliminating the need to later on purchase a Gro Clock or something similar.

It has controls on the bottom keeping the light neat looking. The app is super simple to use and I love that you can control every feature from your phone. It also has a touch feature on the top that turns the power on which is great if you have a baby in your arms!

Lifesaver! Before this I was using white noise on my phone.. My baby would jump every time I started the white noise my phone in the room with him and woke him up before I even put him down! This machine is awesome with lots of options for white noise and volume options (we like ours loud so baby is not woken by noise outside or in the house). And I can switch it on BEFORE we get into the room so its the perfect sleeping environment for baby. Wish we had bought it sooner. Plus it will grow with baby into toddlerhood so totally worth the cost.

Great sound machine. It’s very powerful and can actually go pretty loud. The lights in it are bright, but can be dimmed or even turned off completely. I like the two on top feature to switch sounds and colours, as well as to turn off. What’s also nice is when you tap it off and then on again later, it comes back on the last setting used. Easy for every night usage.

I only wish the buttons weren’t in the bottom and were easier to get to change settings each time.: like maybe on the sides so you don’t have to lift it up and struggle to see in the dark.

I love Hatchbaby. We have had one for 2 1/2 years and it’s been a lifesaver training our eldest about when she can come out of her room in the morning/post naps. More sleep for us. Yippy! We got when my eldest was turning 3. Now she is 5 and she and her little sister both love it. I ordered this for my friend who is having her first baby since I think it’s invaluable for overtired parents. Lol. Love that it synced to an app on your phone as well. One of my favorite purchases for my children over the course of their early years.

I wasn’t looking for a sound machine that would have a light on it that was bright enough for night feedings/diaper changes but dim enough that it wouldn’t wake baby completely. I like to use the light and sound while nursing/rocking to sleep then turn the light off at bed time. I like that it has multiple settings and that you can use either the app or tap the light to choose the light/sound setting. The variety of sounds are good multiple white noise options or lullabies. Set up was easy and app is intuitive. Would recommend.

we have used this every single day since my baby was born and she is now 2. we still use it. we now program it so that a nice light warm light comes on in the morning when we are ok with her waking up. so she knows she has to wait in her room until the light comes on (similar to gro clock). this has traveled with us to cottages, overseas etc. highly recommend this!
