I finally gave in and decided to try this after various YouTubers promoting or being sponsored by the brand, and I wanted/needed to give my CPU some fresh thermal compound.

First things thing, I’m rocking a Ryzen R7 2700X at 4.1GHz with a CPU VDD of 1.36v. For cooling, I’m using a Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120, with a Corsair LLL120 fan. As I ran out of my usual Noctua NT-H1, I’ll be putting this Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut against Cooler Master’s MasterGel that I had laying around from the MasterLiquid Lite 120.

I also have a Phanteks P350X case with 2x Corsair LL120 fans in the top, and 2x Corsair LL140 fans in the front.

Unless I did something wrong, which I doubt. It seems as if there’s not a huge difference between the MasterGel and the Kryonaut. Which is a little disappointing. Although I didn’t look at the temps, you’ll have to take my word for it, that the Noctua NT-H1 gave similar temps. Max temps were done with a few consecutive runs of Cinebench R20.

With all of this said and done, I’d honestly say just go for Noctua’s NT-H1. It costs around the same, and you get 3.5g instead of just 1g with this. Although, I will admit, that applying the Kryonaut with the spreader was hassle-free...although could be done something else that’s plastic and has a straight edge.

Sidenote: The CPU and copper plate of the AiO were cleaned with Arctic’s material remover and purifier.

I'm sure this stuff is pretty good and I really wanted it to work, but the only problem is its immensely hard to spread evenly on a cpu. I left it in hot water for a time, even used a hair dryer during application. But it just goes too sticky quite quickly when you're trying to spread it evenly. Temps weren't great (due to unevenness) and gave up after 40min trying to re-apply. I just cleaned it off and applied some arctic 3 which spread like a charm after 2min. I think if they invented an applicator tool it may prove to be the best, but until you can it's pretty pointless and would not recommend. Sorry grizzly bear.

Au vu des tests, j'ai voulu l'essayer pour changer de l'habituelle Arctic MX-4.
Honnêtement, niveau perf il n'y a pas vraiment de différence (ça doit se jouer à 1°c en charge).

Là où il y a une différence, c'est niveau utilisation, cette pâte est un peu plus pénible à appliquer correctement et a tendance à se montrer agressive envers les surfaces cuivrées (abrasion sur mon ihs / rad en cuivre).
Ah et aussi, niveau tarif. Ici, nous sommes à 5x le prix au gramme de la concurrence. Donc on est en droit de s'attendre à de l'exceptionnel.

I went from 81C in Prime95 to 75 after replacing the thermal paste. For reference when using the thermal paste that came with my dark rock pro 3 it was around 76C when I installed it 3 years ago. Yes, it is better than most other thermal paste but you get a hell a lot more in other brands.

Was it worth it? For me sure, I only replace it once a few years and it's 6 quid for this tiny tube. Thermal compound does have a life around 2-5 years so it's not worth it for most people to buy more paste. None the less, it's but expensive but it is one of the best around..

Over rated and expensive for the amount you get. I have tried this, Coolermaster Mastergel and MX4 on an overclocked (4.3mhz all core) threadripper 3790x and I found 1-2 degrees difference.

Great paste, but at a not so great price. Arctic Mx4 (2021 formula) runs 1-2 degrees hotter but is about 70% cheaper (4gram option) gram for gram.

If you want to get every last degree in cooling then go for this and use a cpu cooler with a quality nickel plated base, like most Noctua units.

If you have another high-end cooler, get Mx4. Mx5 is out but not worth the price premium over Mx4, which often performs better than its replacement.

So I got this to replace some existing cheapo pasta (Alaka or something) and it does keep it cooler, but only by maybe 2 or 3 max degrees with a coolermaster hyper 212 evo on an i7 7700k. I used the spreader, just to make sure it wasnt too thick or too thin, nothing worse than trying to clean up TP. But yeah its ok, I guess, nothing amazing.

Good temps, poor longevity

Used with both a 3600 and a 5600X and both chips seemed to suffer from pump-out within a few months of application.. Changed to Arctic MX4 which seems to work better. Good temps though, poor longevity.

Pumped out on my Laptop - replaced with IC Diamond

Initial thermal performance was fine, but pumped out on my Razer Blade laptop within a few weeks. Possible issue to do with low mounting pressure on the heat sink (which is a general laptop problem as there is no space for strong clips). However, the result is the result and I switched to thicker IC Diamond paste imported from America for a much better and long-lasting result.
