I ran out of HDMI ports on my TV and decided to try a switch. This enables me to have three devices plugged in to my one free port. The switch comes with a handy remote control to enable selection of the device you want to .use. If only one port has something switched on then the switch will automatically select that device. This has meant to me that I do not usually even have to use the remote. I am very happy with this switch and recommend it.

I was getting really frustrated looking for an HDMI splitter. All the ones i could see on Amazon were really cheap, some had terrible reviews and others had reviews which in my opinion weren't genuine 5-star ones. Really glad I managed to come across this device. The first impression is that it's heavy! Not a flimsy piece of plastic at all. Easy to install. My setup is on PC monitor, with a PC and a PS4 connected. Dead easy to switch over from one to the other using the remote. Looks nice on the desktop too and due to its weight it sits well with the wires coming out of the back

Updated - had this just over a week, it keeps losing picture to the monitor, and when it's working there's red pixels everywhere, having to send it back

Updated - after unplugging the device and reconnecting the HDMI back directly in to the PC, I now have an issue where the monitor randomly turns itself on and off for no reason. I didn't have this issue before using this item.

Brilliant little gadget

I previously bought a HDMI splitter from another company and it didn't work so I gave it a 1 star review. They asked me to change my review as this was a fault with 1 product. They sent a second free of charge... it didn't help. Like the first the second didn't work either. They also had a plug in order for it to work...

Anyway this splitter is just class, comes well packaged. Remote has a battery in it. I was a bit puzzled when I removed the small splitter from the box and only saw the remote. The previous company ruined me for other HDMI splitters. But that's it, the splitter and a remote. 4 HDMI sockets at the back, 1 outlet which immediately turns it on and 3 for your other devices.

It's neat, sleek, feels sturdy and works perfectly. 5 Stars it is. I'm delighted I took a chance and bought 2. The remote is simple to use but as you can see from the pictures I live with simple and needed to label what button activates what HDMI. Either way it's very simple to use, choosing either the number you're looking for or use the scroll buttons. Absolutely buy this product, sure buy 2 and then your friends might need one too.

Sure go on, you may as well.

Bad delay between switching devices

Not what I expected at all. I bought this expecting to be able to switch between PS3, PS5 and PC on the fly. Switching to my PS5 is near instant, but the minute I switch from my PS5 to either my PS3 or PC there is at least a minute delay. Sometimes it can be instant but most of the time it there will be a minute delay between devices.

Maybe I have been sent a faulty unit. I'm not sure but I am not willing to spend more to find out. I have returned this and will look elsewhere for another unit.

I have gave a 1* on everything as I am forced by amazon in order to submit a review. Though that said the remote and picture quality is brilliant. But the 1 minute delay between switching devices has let this unit down.

Unexpected problems

I have found a problem when connecting to my Sony 49" 4k HD TV that has a Sony UHD-X800 sound bar connected via HDMI 3/ ARC input.
The sound output from the TV when on normal digital channels will just disappear for no apparent reason.
The only way to resolve this was to disconect this HDMI switching unit, which restored normal sound output when on FREEVEIW channels.
I also tried disconnecting the sound bar totally from the TV but it didn't cure the no sound output. At this point I can only assume that this weird problem has something to do with my particular combination of technology.???

I purchased this unit to connect an Apple TV to my Panasonic LED TV.

It all sounds quite simple, but I knew the reality was going to be quite different, especially when reading the handy User Guide under the "Automatic Input Selection" that stated that Apple TV is a non-compliant device under this area.

My two devices on the Input side are a Sky Q box and an Apple TV. On the Output was first to a Bose Smart Soundbar 300 (HDMI Arc) then to my Panasonic TV which is about three years old.

Plugged all in as per the User Guide, switched on the Sky box, picture and sound perfect. Used the splitter remote to change the input source to my Apple TV. The picture and sound perfect, I was amazed.

It was when changing the input back to the Skybox, I got the picture but no sound.

Initially, I thought it was the settings in the Bose soundbar; what I found out after many hours, it was the Apple TV even in sleep mode was still hanging onto the sound channel. So as the User Guide states you have to switch the apple TV off and this should cure the problem.

Going through the process of switching between the input devices with the splitter and finding when moving from the Apple TV to the Skybox, the sound was not available.

The workaround I came across which may be useful to others, I selected another HDMI port on the TV and then switched it back to the HDMI ARC.

I am pleased with the unit; I like:-

- The case is Alliumium to help dissipate the heat.

- No power supply needed.

- The ports are all in the back of the unit so that it makes it easy to connect all the cables, and also it sits nice and tidy in the TV unit.

- The cost.

Before I purchased the unit, I knew it was not going to be straight forward but looking back; it was not that bad, especially with an Apple TV and a Bose soundbar.

Build quality, value for money, image quality are all excellent. There is one oddity in that on the case it states that you can connect an external 5v PSU and even gives the barrel connect pin-out, but there is no external connector. This however is a good thing in my opinion. The unit derives all it's power from the DHMI connections so there is no messing around with additional PSU's needed - wish they all did that. There is only one annoying "feature". There are LEDs for power and output signal; both blue. There are 3 input LEDs (one per input) which are either blue (input selected), red, input available but not selected, or dark, input not selected. The 3 input LEDs also change intensity (which is a nice feature). Again in my opinion, it's difficult to quickly see which input is selected when all three are active sometimes. I just don't like the over use of blue. I would have preferred green. It's a small thing but it does cause me trouble. That said, the unit works really well. The sockets seem decent quality and I've had no problems with dodgy or loose connections. Running at 1920x1080 resolution and no problems.

Brilliant! The first HDMI switch I've bought that actually works. I bought a few before (even those with good reviews) which didn't work, so I gave up. Before buying a new TV instead, I saw this by chance and thought I would try it as a last resort - and it worked! (I have an LG TV). It has good build and feels like a quality bit of kit. It has arrows on the remote so that you can rotate between hdmi devices for ease of use. The switch does have lights on the front, but they're not too intrusive as they're blue. Remember that you'll need an extra hdmi cable to connect this to the TV, then connect your devices to it. Recommended!

Love this gadget. Even though my TV has two HDMI points, I had freeview plugged into one and Now TV stick in the other which meant everytime I wanted to watch a DVD I had to fiddle around at the back of the TV to unplug Now TV and plug in the DVD player.

I then got a firestick in order to get youttube and other stuff on the TV which meant another thing to mess around with so I got this little gadget.

Now, all I need to do is use the tiny remote control that comes with this gadget to change from 1, 2 or 3 rather than keep switching the HDMI cables - so much easier.

Only negatives if you could call them that - yet another remote control to join the already mounting amount of remotes and also the remote is very small and easy to use - providing you have all your remote controls organised then you'll be fine

Great HDMI switch

I had a non-remote HDMI switch previously but I replaced it with this one as all the ports (cables) on this switch are on one side, which make it easier to locate and set up on my desk. I use it to switch my display between home PC and work laptop, which is does perfectly. Picture (and sound) quality is not affected by having this switch between my devices and the monitor. Remote works great also. I like the fact that if one of the ports is not used or your device is offline, then you can see that on the display and you don't have to cycle through them on the unit - also individual devices can be directly selected on the laptop. All in all, very happy with this switch. It is more expensive than my other HDMI switch but it is well made and well worth the extra money.
