This for the money is a super BP machine. Personally I found the instructions were ok. I noted some reviewers found them lacking. I also note some reviewers found the cuff was uncomfortable. Again here I do not have any nor have I encountered any difficulties. It is a BP machine and the cuff will tighten to just over your highest BP measurement to take an accurate reading. In summary an accurate, no frills easy to use machine for a good competitive price. Would recommend it’s purchase.

Acutely painful for me; arm shape? low BP?

Seems accurate, on other people, ones whose arms it doesn't try to squeeze in two.
For me, it overinflates until my hand and forearm are puffy and purple, and I'm in intense pain. By then, my BP is high -- on this or any other monitor-- as one's BP generally is after a prolonged painful and bruising painful event. (Wait fifteen minutes and my BP is back below normal -- the problem for which I need a cuff.)
Don't know if it's an arm-shape issue or a problem when the device encounters hypotension, but it's a problem that makes this gadget useless to me.
Luckily, we know someone who can use this device.

I found the setting up instructions confusing and the terms used to set date etc didn’t match exactly the signs on the monitor. However taking blood pressure and pulse readings was easy as it only involved plugging it in and following the clear instructions about the placement of the cuff, seating etc. Seems to be efficient and accurate .

Dangerous inaccuracies

This machine caused me many very unnecessary trips to a&e. Giving complete inaccurate results. I wasted my time taxi money ambulances doctors times and efforts because this machine give inaccurate readings also causing me intense anxiety for my health! Took it with me to hospital to compare the readings and for them to make sure I was fitting it correct and it was confirmed that the machine was extremely inaccurate. Would like a refund but don’t know how to do it

Uncomfortable arm cuff.

I bought this for my wife who needs to check her BP, and to replace a different make of monitor that was no longer working correctly. Unfortunately, the cuff was so uncomfortable that she was getting stressed even thinking of using it. She was also left with red marks on her skin that took a few days to fade. We have now returned it for a refund, and have replaced it with a different (more expensive) make that has an 'intelligent' softer cuff which is much more suitable.

The armband is clearly designed for someone with fatter arms than me. I am 6ft but slim/skinny/lanky and unless I am wearing a jumper and roll up the sleeve the velco pops apart as the pressure increases.

Overall I am happy with the monitor. I particularly like the fact that two people can use it and save their average readings.

The zip up bag provided with it is pretty poor quality. I use the box if I am taking the monitor to work.

Minor quibles aside, I have been using it for the last three months and given the brand name and low cost I would recommend it. That said, I have never owned any other monitors.

It's ok but not great

Takes ages to get it working properly even with the instructions. Arm cuff isn't great for skinnier arms (I'm a UK ladies clothes size 8 and find it tricky to get the cuff stuck enough on the velcro to not pop off during inflation). I'm not completely sure it's accurate either. I bought it for assurance at home in between appointments and I'm sure if I was high or low it'd show up but the pinpoint accuracy probably isn't brilliant. It's ok.

Very easy to use. Large digits on monitor for easy reading. Sorting date time was a bit finicky. Seems to be accurate. Would be better if able to be rechargeable instead of having to buy batteries, but they do last a while. You just plug cuff in at side of monitor, put cuff on your arm, relax and press the start button. Readings will show at the end and stay on giving you time to write down results. Well worth the money.

This blood pressure monitor is comapct and easy to use. I have been suffering with Hypertension Stage 3 for the past 3 or months and after my other monitor stopped working, I looked for another, and decided on Salter as they are a brand I know, and the price was good. I have found it very easy to use, and it helps me keep track of my blood pressure, and to see how well the medication I am currently using lowers my blood pressure.

The current price is what made me purchase this 1, along with the next day delivery. I have had no problems at all since buying it, and would highly recommend it, due to its size, and ease of use. It also stores readings as well, which is a bonus, as well as having a scale on the side, to let you know what stage your blood pressure reading is at.
