ANAPULSE 100 Pulse Oximeter

I am a first responder and I purchased two of these for our kits. For the price they are really good. On opening the box, it comes with a soft cover, an outer case, a lanyard and two batteries. The batteries and the lanyard are easily attached/fitted. To start the meter just press the white button on the to and attach it to the persons finger. It takes a few seconds to start up and show results. The display is nice a big so easily read and it shows the Sp02 levels and the pulse.
We also have the ONYX pulse oximeter so I put these on side by side and the readings were the same. The ONYX retails at around £125 and does the exact same thing this one does which was only £20. In the photo you will see the displays of both the ANAPULSE 100 and the ONYX.

I work as a Paramedic and this piece of equipment is great. I sometimes compare it with my work machines that are worth thousands of pounds and it is normally on par with accuracy to these machines. I just use it as it is easily ready on my belt for access. Would definetly recommend as it is cheap, reliable and effective for anyone that needs.

This is so simple and useful I am just sorry we didn't find it sooner. My mother suffers from chronic Asthma and C.O.P.D. We use oxygen daily and her oxygen sats are very volatile. So keeping us informed is this little gadget that I didn't know we could buy till recently. WOW. Simply a 'cant do without now we've got one' kind of tool.
It's dial is easy to read and understand in BOLD red numbers. It constantly changes as the levels move up and down so you can get a running reading.
We were blown away with the ease of use and quality. The device is made from a hard quality plastic with areas of soft grip rubber. It comes with a decent quality long lanyard to put around your knock, together with a small clip case AND a quality canvas and Velcro pouch. VERY good product which I highly recomend for anyone who suffers with breathing difficulties or for a relative who is caring for someone to help you keep an eye on their oxygen levels. It takes all the gues work out of the situation. I no longer need to convince mother to put her air back on, she knows within seconds if she needs it. Can't think how we coped without one and never knew you could buy them so really very chuffed with this little gem.

My mother came down with a heart problem and using this small device was a good way of monitoring her oxygen levels and keeping an eye on how she was doing with her breathing. At the same time it also provides a pulse reading and this was vital in monitoring how her heart was working

Using this at home gave me the reassurance that I was not wasting anyones time when I had to make the decision to call an ambulance to come to attend to her

I believe that it is eally quite accurate as the reading matched those that were made in hospital and it is very quick and easy to use

I bought this oximeter in July 2019 and it works well, I checked the accuracy with the one used by my respiratory nurse and it is accurate. It is easy to use, easy to read and generally good and fit for purpose. The only complaint I have is I bought it from the same seller on July 21st 2019 for £18.95. I just tried to buy another identical one today 29 April 2020 for my ex wife and the price has shot up to £44.95. I feel this is unacceptable greed and whilst the item is good, I question the price increase in the current situation.

We ordered this in case either of us got the virus. The measurement of blood/oxygen levels is a vital indicator of your lungs effectiveness should you have Covid-19. It’s the first thing that paramedics measure on arrival if you fall ill. Furthermore if you note that your blood/oxygen levels are falling you are able to monitor this and phone for help before becoming seriously ill.
Do your own research on this but normal levels should be between 96%-99%. In hospital if your levels fall below 90% it is categorised as a clinical emergency. Please note I am not a doctor or medic but this information can be found from reliable sources (NHS website) on line.
We wanted a UK manufactured item with good reviews, this fits the bill and arrived quickly not coming from China. Very well packaged and exceptionally easy to use. One of the more expensive ones but for something like this cost isn’t top of the list.

This arrived yesterday I sat all last night and most of today trying to get a true or even nearly true reading. My oxygen levels are 72 pulse is 58 They go up and down but 9/10 land on 72 oxygen and 58 pulse. I was taken into hospital 2 weeks ago and I got out on Wednesday I was suffering with pneumonia pneumonia. I’m so glad I wasn’t depending on this phoning my doctor to tell him and the hospital what my sats were! I thought I’d buy this one as a spare as it has a ribbon to put around your neck that way I won’t leave it lying around, not being able to find it quickly when needed especially when the ambulance crew had called me for a reading. It’s still now! Sitting at o2 72 Pulse 58 PLEASE!!! People think twice before purchasing this piece of crap especially if you have lung issues and depend on your oximeter giving a true (or there abouts) you a saturation reading. I put this in my dressing gown pocket b4 I left for hospital as wanted it checked, the Dr’s laughed at it told me it was junk!! And never trust any seller that says NHS approved as all hospital equipment is checked and picked by specialists and are always made in the UK. I picked this one because of the good feedback it got thinking that all those folk couldn’t be wrong?? Another lady that was in the same ward as me said she bought this one too a few month ago and did the same with her… all wrong and low readings every time. The nurses in hospital said never to buy these kind of things from unknown sellers, and to use St Johns Ambulance to purchase one. I DON’T do reviews but I truly think people should know how bad this oximeter is and should never be relied on, this thing could kill you it’s dangerous to sell faulty equipment to the public that could save your life one day!!!

I bought a pulse oximeter after New York doctors said that the C flu exhibited (if that is the right word) not as a wet lung, pneumonia like ailment, (as stated by british media) but as a dry lung , hypoxia like ailment where the sufferers had low blood oxygen.
That was interesting as my levels decreased with exercise while my friends levels increased.
It came into it's own when I started to get Atrial Fibrillation.
I was previously, by far, the fittest of my group and supported my slightly older mates who have health issues.
I then took to using this device to sample resting and active heart rates.
There's a long wait for portable meters on the NHS.
I checked and the flu does not cause this type of symptom but can be more dangerous if you suffer from it.
No regrets about this purchase.

What did you like about this?
Answer:
1. it confirms I'm alive (seeing current heart rate & oxygen saturation)
2. it confirms that won't be the case for long if I continue while going tachycardic !

I'm using this as a means to realise when to slow down.
It's very useful at reminding me I'm not as fit as I once was.
It hasn't actually saved my life as such, but it might one day, as long as I remember to stop & look at it when I feel the old ticker starts beating fast !

At the price I paid, this is a bargain. Well worth having if only for the curiosity value, let alone the medical value.

PS - Grandkids will love it.

Very easy to use. Push one button and you have your oxygen level and pulse numbers in seconds. In addition to the pulse oximeter, the box also contains a soft plastic case to protect the device, a material case that I assume can be used to transport the device, and a lanyard that attaches to the material case for carrying around the neck (another reviewer says it is too short to go over the head, but mine is plenty long enough).
Delivery was very quick (and free). What’s not to like. Highly recommended.
