There are many devices marketed for domestic use, such as oxymeters, thermometers, CO2 monitors, and so on. It is important to understand their value , their limitations, and how to use them properly. In this particular case, we had the Ana Wiz oxymeter for some time. Last week, my wife fell ill. The Ana Wiz showed 92% consistently. I checked my level. It. Was 97%, which is normal. The wife then measured 92%. Repeated comparison showed she had a significant issue. An ambulance came. With expensive, high-tech equipment, they confirmed the Ana wiz was spot on. So the moral is: take reference measurement of suspect patient and normal person before leaping to conclusions. In our case, the Ana Wiz was the critical factor that told me to ring 999. The conclusion the paramedics came to was that my wife had potential pneumonia, which we are keeping an eye on. If we did not have the Ana Wiz, who knows what could have happened. As for inaccuracies or bad readings, that can happen with any equipment. The solution is to keep monitoring your devices for potential errors and to know their limitation. I remain impressed with our Ana Wiz. It’s a potential life-saver, if used properly.

I bought a pulse oximeter after New York doctors said that the C flu exhibited (if that is the right word) not as a wet lung, pneumonia like ailment, (as stated by british media) but as a dry lung , hypoxia like ailment where the sufferers had low blood oxygen.
That was interesting as my levels decreased with exercise while my friends levels increased.
It came into it's own when I started to get Atrial Fibrillation.
I was previously, by far, the fittest of my group and supported my slightly older mates who have health issues.
I then took to using this device to sample resting and active heart rates.
There's a long wait for portable meters on the NHS.
I checked and the flu does not cause this type of symptom but can be more dangerous if you suffer from it.
No regrets about this purchase.

I purchased this to use to monitor blood oxygen saturation during the Covid outbreak. The batteries fit into the cover which slips open on the back of the machine - make sure you get the correct polarity - it is not obvious and a separate slip of paper outlines how the batteries fit. The oximeter is easy to use. Just clip it onto the top of one of your fingers so that your finger nail is right in the oximeter then press the button on the top. After about five seconds of pulsing the readout records blood oxygen and pulse rate. it continues to read out whilst it is on your finger. I have then tried out the oximeter on other fingers and the readings were constant.

Im a student Nurse and i purchased this as an extra back up when im at home. I think im Kind of fortunate that i purchased it a month before hand because I ended up catching coronavirus and for extra reassurance so glad i had this on hand! (making sure my oxygen levels were not dropping at low levels ) whilst having the respiratory virus.
Im now Reviewing this because it has so far been very spot on and helped me to self monitor & care for myself during that tough period and any other time should i need to do so.
Glad i purchased it when i did.

One sign of excellent service is how problems are dealt with. The item arrived next day, which was remarkable during lockdown. However, i couldn't get it to work, although I was sure I had done everything correctly. Before packing it up for return, I thought I would call the number given. Instant, cheerful response. It seems that the batteries are put in in a very eccentric way (not explained in the directions) that would never be guessed. Problem solved. Tip: put the device under good light and follow the "plus" and "minus" signs formed in the plastic - they aren't what you would expect!

We ordered this for my husband, who has tested it out and is very pleased. He had been using a phone app but was not convinced it was reliable, however that would be a good option out of the house.

The oximeter is nicely compact and came with batteries, but we would use rechargeable batteries in it when those run out. As often as he uses it the results are very clear and helps him to check his blood oxygen level and monitor his health. This is very useful for someone with asthma.

We are also pleased that the oximeter came with minimal packaging. The delivery was within a couple of days although we did not ask for a rush order.
We did not receive any discount or incentive. This is an unbiased review.

I unfortunately contracted covid and while in the first stages of covid i decided to buy this oximeter after reading reviews. I then became really ill but this device enabled me to give readings to an online doctor (i also have a blood pressure machine) and by doing this IT SAVED ME FROM GOING INTO HOSPITAL as taking my sats just like did is all they would do there..It really gave me piece of mind that I was able to check how I was getting on. I recommend these to anyone. Very easy to use.. unfortunately the information that came with it was useless as I thought it would tell you readings but it doesn't... but easy to look up on the net.

I've bought the item on recommendation. However I've only had it for one day and tried it once. Worked as expected so no problem to date. Too soon to give any evaluation. One stark problem was the packaging seal which stated that if the seal was broken then I couldn't send the product back. This goes against consumer law and is worrying if the product doesn't continue working properly. It will be sent back if it fails to work within a reasonable time, and I expect the company to comply with current consumer law. I would suggest that the manufacturer removes this incorrect disclaimer. In saying that, the product appears well made and I'm pleased to say, it is working fine.

This is very easy to use, easy to put the batteries provided in. (the whole of the back panel slides off aided by a thumb)
and the display is simple to read. top number pulse, bottom number blood oxygen level.
comes in a lovely well presented box including the oximeter some batteries a runner cover for it if you choose to use it! a cute little pouch to house your oximetre and a thin lanyard in case you wish to carry it with aat all times round your neck. the pouch can also clip onto a belt. its readings match what my nurses one says so all in all its pretty natty. my only gripe would be that during hypnotherapy sessions it can b hard to read the display. the numbers are read and reading them well is dependent upon where the clients hand is sitting.

Seems like a good product for the price - no way of telling accuracy to within a few % with officially calibrating but the readings seem to make sense given the circumstance and alongside counting my pulse manually.
I would say if you have bought this for personal use you may prefer one where the display is orientated towards yourself instead of towards a caregiver (I'm not bothered personally).
It also doesn't have the 'skirt' at the edges like some do to prevent outside light affecting the reading - if this seems an issue place the finger and reader under a cover whilst using.
I like that it comes with the added bonus of silicon case (protect against drops and splashes), carry case and lanyard.
