Ik heb de schijfbehuizing gebruikt voor een SanDisk SSD. Zowel het koppelen met een NAS en een desktopcomputer gaf steeds problemen. Het verkennerscherm verdween elke 10 sec. en kopiëren van veel bestanden gaf steeds foutmeldingen.
Uiteindelijk heb ik de kabel en aansluiting van een defecte Samsung usb HDD gebruikt en die werkt zonder problemen.

It is an ok product. I only have a minor issue about the reading/writing speeds every single time I connect the whole case included my ssd with my laptop, both speeds are around 40MB/s. Then I eject and unplug the whole thing and connect again with the same port, same cable, (everything are the same as the first try) and check again both the speeds are around 450MB/s (my ssd give the writing 490MB/s and reading 530MB/s if connected direct to the motherboard of my old laptop). The speeds are good enough. I read some reviews said there were an issue with the included cable. I don't know where is the problem I encounter because it happens every time for the first try. I don't have a graded 10Gbps cable to have further tests. I would give 5 star if I didn't have the above issue

Edit: after replacing the cable with a better one (also USB A to USB C), it does work properly on PS5. No idea why it did work properly on PS4 and PC - intermittent contact in Ugreen cable?

I intended to use this enclosure on my PS5 with a 1 TB SATA SSD I had lying around.

I formatted the SSD on my PC as exFAT (GPT), but couldn't get it to work on my PS5; the PS5 starts to format it, then fails. I then connected it to my PS4, formatted it, copied Ratchet & Clank on it and played that for a few minutes. On the PS4 (as well as my PC), the enclosure works fine.

Connected the enclosure back to the PS5: it now no longer suggests to format it, but it also doesn't work.

I took a slightly older Ugreen enclosure (search for 'ugreen 30847', Amazon stills sells that one) and plugged the SSD in that enclosure. After connecting it to the PS5, it works fine and I can play Ratchet & Clank.

So the PS5 does not like the controller in this newer Ugreen enclosure, though it works just fine on my PS4 and PC. I now have the new enclosure (with a 1 TB FireCuda SSHD) connected to my PS4 and the old enclosure (with the 1 TB SSD) to my PS5 and both work fine.

Bought it cause I had some spare hard drives. Easy to install the drives and everything works fine. I was a bit disappointed with the build quality. Looks like fragile (cheap) plastic. In the past I used to buy ugreen stuff from Ali, in those days ugreen was from a better quality.

Great external SSD enclosure with USB-C connection. Ssd drive fits snug because of little foam blocks. Case is not unnecessary big. Item would be better if it comes with a complimentary version of Acronis True Image, which you do get with the Sabrent version. But that doesn't come with USB-C.

I currently have a Crucial M500 1Tb SSD in a Buffalo Thunderbolt enclosure. I get about 320MB/s transfer speeds to my Mac using that setup.

On USB3 the Buffalo enclosure speed drops slightly, so I was expecting this UGREEN to be similar and certainly not match the Thunderbolt performance.

However I'm stunned to say that with the SSD installed in this UGREEN enclosure, I was getting 420MB/s sustained speeds on a USB3 (Gen1 ie 5Gbps link) so clearly excellent.

One down side from my perspective is that the cable supplied is USB-C (enclosure end) to USB-A. I was expecting USB-C at both ends so now have to source another cable. Not the end of the world but does add unexpected cost.

BUT: when using this with a new Mac mini ie Gen2 USB3.1 (10Gbps) it was terrible. 15MB/s on the USB-C ports and unreliable / disconnects etc. on the USB-A ports. I was going to send it back, but then I bought a decent USB-C to USB-C cable and it absolutely flies with that - getting over 500MB/s sustained speeds.

I can highly recommend this enclosure if you're looking for something that will perform really well on USB 3.x and you're willing to pay for a decent cable. However it's a bit of a compatibility nightmare with the cable that's included hence only 4 stars which is a shame as this is the fastest enclosure I've ever had, bar none, once you spend hours sorting through the cable problems!

I bought a USB-C to USB-C from UGREEN that is rated at 5Gbps and it works really well. The provided cable is ok but it will not reach its maximum speed. Put 4 stars because the USB-C to USB-C cable was not provided and I had to spend another £10.

I use a 750GB MX300 SSD with the caddy for my Dell XPS 15 9570 since I only have 500GB on my laptop. I store games on it since a lot of the newer ones are 50GB+. There has been no slow downs or performance issues with playing my games off the external SSD.

I have attached images comparing the speeds of the SSD when: it was in my PC (via SATA), connected to my laptop via the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable and connected to my laptop via USB-C to USB-C (bought separately). As you can see there isn't much difference between connecting it internally and using a USB-C to USB-C. I was worried that the performance of the SSD might be bottlenecked by the caddy but it is not the case.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking to put an external SSD into it, just make sure you get a decent USB-C to USB-C that supports at least 5Gbps of file transfer.

This was one of the few enclosures I could find that supported:
1. TRIM - ensures you get maximum life & performance from your SSD
2. USAP - increases speed over USB 3.0 connections
3. USB 3.1 Gen 2 - combined with USAP means this enclosure has a faster connection than most SSD drives available today need. It supports speeds up to 10Gbps whilst most SSD drives can only get to around 4-6Gbps, which is 500-750 MB/S - confusing I know as SSDs are all compared on MB/s (Megabyes per second) but USB standards are quoted in is Gbps (Gigabit per second) - TIP: if you want to find our the conversion for your SSD speed just google "mb/s to gbps" and you'll get an online conversion tool.

I'm getting real world speeds on my Samsung Evo 850 1TB drive connected to an iMac thunderbolt/USB 3.1 port of Sequential write of 456 MB/s and reads of 513 MB/s. The official specs for this drive are 520 MB/s write and 540 MB/s read but from what I understand from reading online reviews is you never get these speeds in real world situations.

It's great value for the price as I saw some enclosures that were 2x or 3x the price for the same spec. To make sure you get the best performance from the drive make sure you get a good quality USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable that can support the 10 Gbps speed and if you're using a Mac then you will have to get your hands dirty with some simple Terminal commands to turn on TRIM or download one of the TRIM enabler tools available online.

My only one criticism is the drive comes with a USB C to USB A connector but to hook it up to a fast USB C/thunderbolt port on a Mac you need USB C to USB C cable - would be great if they offered a different version with this cable like some of the competing drives, but it still works out good value if you add in the cost of a £10 USB cable.

Mit Unterstützung von UASP erreicht meine SSD mit 495 MB/s Bestwerte.
Maximal kann die Samsung 850 Pro 550 MB/s.

Ganz wichtig sind die Kabel. Das beiliegende funktionierte bei mir einwandfrei.
Das Gehäuse hat einen USB Typ C Anschluss.

38 MB/s -> USB 2 Kabel Typ A oder C
412 MB/s -> USB 3.1 Kabel Typ A
495 MB/s -> USB 3.1 Kabel,Typ C

Um das Optimum aus seiner Festplatte/SDD rauszukitzeln benötigt man daher:
- Gehäuse mit UASP und USB 3.1
- USB 3.1 Kabel, am besten USB Typ C auf Typ C
- Kabel sollte min 5 GBit/s unterstützen, nicht 480 MBit/s!

Ein Gehäuse (von Anker) ohne UASP lieferte nur 235 MB/s!

With a SanDisk Ultra 3d 250GB SSD, and a (fairly pricey) Amazonbasics USB AtoC cable, I got a fairly good score (7994) with James A. Chambers' benchmarking script, higher than other of the enclosures and adaptors I tried. I believe this is because the Pi had no trouble recognising the UASP potential of the SSD card. Moreover, I've had no trouble (so far) booting from the SSD, ie. without an SD card. I say "so far" because the Pi4 B is rather skittish about current draw at boot time, and (from bitter experience with other adaptors etc) I boot only from complete power-off, detaching from the power-supply (and with an backup SD card handy). On balance, I think the enclosure is excellent, and whatever doubts remain concern the Pi.
