3,0 van 5 sterren Earbuds for basic functions. Good not amazing.
Beoordeeld in Canada op 10 januari 2020
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
Its a little difficult to detect the problems but they do exist...and it bothers me. The earbuds are made well and perform well but It is not amazing for its price.
1. Right earbud has a lower Treble range than the Left (The sound on the left is much more punchier on vocals).
2. Right earbud has a lower bass punch than the left (The separation between beats are the same on both ends but the right earphone has a much weaker punch to it).
3. The earbuds have a difficult fit, it is never perfect and they have a way of getting very close to getting that perfect fit...leaving a very unsatisfied feeling of "so close".
UPDATE: I got used to it and eventually, I got comfortable with it.
4. Because the earbuds maneuver around your ear to try to fit the sound has a similar way to travel and it feels uncomfortable and might even result in headaches over a long period of time.
5. Lack of sound stage, the earbuds doesn't expand the sounds being heard. It spends more time trying to keep up with the frequencies being put out.
6. Doesn't normally play on its 20hz-20000hz freq. It gets too comfortable on 15000hz and although it can reach 20000hz it chooses not to sometimes for reasons I can't understand.

The good notes
1. It does hit its 20-20000hz. Not all earbuds will do that.
2. Reliably pairing and connection.
3. Works in all its basic functions.
4. Can pass any test you throw it. Just won't be amazing at it.

Update: After using it for a while, I think its about getting used to it. The connection isn't perfect but like muscle memory, you need to put in a little effort to know what is comfortable for you and playing the earbuds long enough so the sound begins to settle to a point where its comfortable.

3,0 van 5 sterren Great buds but read my review if you're struggling to pair them together
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 27 juni 2021
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
I've had to edit my review as for a long time (many months) I just could not get these to pair together. It was either one, or the other but never both together, despite trying officially recommended fixes. However I eventually found a fix that worked for me & if you're struggling to pair like I did this will work for you too. Delete them from your Bluetooth list on your phone, take the buds out the case & hold down both buttons for about 5 seconds until they turn red, put them back into the case, lights will turn white, while KEEPING THEM IN THE BOX press & hold both buttons until they flash red then release buttons, once the lights turn white take them out the case & put them next to one another & wait til the left one flashes slowly & the right flashes quickly, go to Bluetooth on your phone & pair. Bingo. This will ensure both will work together. It works guys. Now I've got them working I can properly review them & I must say they're great. Bass works as bass should & these buds have a quality sound that's not in the least bit tinny or rattly & I would definitely recommend them although there should be something in the instructions for sorting the problem of them not pairing together because I'm not the only guy who's had this issue, if you check on YouTube this is a common issue with these buds & if you don't know the fix it can be utterly infuriating. I know, I've been there 👍

3,0 van 5 sterren Another dodgy Anker product
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 29 januari 2022
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
I've bought a number of Anker products over the past few years, seduced by their hard-fought-for high Amazon ratings. (You can see from the comments in some reviews that reveal how quickly they buy negative reviewers off with upgrades etc.)

But I've now realised that, behind that brand image, is the fact that these are mediocre products that are not designed to last. I’ve had now two Bluetooth speakers that after a while developed static and crackle noises, in one case just outside the warranty period and in the other well within it but I hadn’t realised the warranty is only 18 months (they keep that a bit quiet).

I’ve also had two Bluetooth headphones. One was very tinny. The other one is on already the blink, cutting in and out, after just a few months.

This is my most recent purchase, bought about 7 months ago. It’s non-too comfortable in the ear, but it’s liveable-with. The sound quality is OK for podcasts and audio books, which is my main use, but not great for music. There’s no way to control the volume from the earpiece either which is a design drawback.

But my main concern is that already they’re on the blink, a couple of times failing to switch off the connection when I put them in the box – and so meaning I don’t hear alerts on my phone; and also, when I have later disconnected my phone from a Bluetooth speaker, reconnecting themselves from their box to my phone. It’s happened a couple of times – it may be the contacts not being clean, so I’ll see if it’s an ongoing problem. But I’m now assuming it’s just another example of Anker’s image-over-quality approach.

My advice is to either go for a better make with a reputation for good production values, such as Sony, and pay the slightly higher price for longer product life and better quality. Or just go for a reasonably reviewed cheapo. It will last as long as an Anker, but save you some money.

3,0 van 5 sterren So far, these are pretty great with a couple of minor exceptions.
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 27 februari 2020
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
De media kon niet worden geladen.
First off, sound quality and battery life are great.
Connected to a Huawei p30 pro with no discernible audio lag.

Bass is suitably punchy without being horribly overpowered and distorted, treble is crisp and clear.
Sound quality is comparable to Sennhesier cx3.00 earphones, maybe a bit better! Passive noise cancellation is decent, but not amazing.

Now onto a couple of sticking points which prevent this from being 5 stars for me. None of the included earbuds seem to make a comfortable seal in my ear, and there are a range of sizes included. I appreciate this problem may be unique to my particular ears, however I've never experienced this issue with any other earbuds I've had in 20+ years of wearing earphones. I'll try some aftermarket earbuds to see if this improves the situation, I daresay it will!

Lastly and possibly the most serious sticking point, is that occasionally when the earphones are inserted into the charging case, they snap into position as per the magnetic connectors but do not start to charge. Removing the earphone and reinserting this into the case resolves this issue. This has only happened a few times, but it's inconvenient enough to drop 1 star as you may think your earphones have charged when they have not. I've uploaded a video to demonstrate this particular issue.

*edit* reduced to 3 stars, frequently disconnecting across multiple devices. I think I may just be unlucky and have a dud pair. Returning for a replacement and will revise review upon using new ones.

3,0 van 5 sterren Great user experience on iOS, terribly poor sound issues on Android
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 7 juli 2020
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
This is mixed review due to the very different behaviour of these wireless earphones on two different operating systems: Android and iOS.
I bought this for using it MAINLY with my Android S8+ mobile phone (I already have a pair of wireless Apple-dedicated earbuds). Sadly, during the first few phone calls I used them, people at the other end told me that the sound was extremely unpleasant and hollow, as if speaking from an empty echoey hall (I was in my fully furnished and carpeted living room), with “unbearable harshness” on the plosive consonants (s, t, b, p, d) in every word and on the fricative consonantal sounds (such as “sh” and dj/dz). I feel compelled to add that I have a perfect diction, as I am professionally trained and work for the radio, and my enunciation is impeccable (so, in my case, there cannot be any “suspicion” of lisping or other uttering “defects” involved).
People I talked on the phone with,
using these Anker earphones, said that the sounds were so disturbing and shrilling, that I had to eventually change from using the earphones to the phone speaker! Extremely disappointing. I tried turning the volume down and also going farther or closer to the phone, but the terrible harshness stayed.
I then tested them to listen to music on my Android mobile, and the sound was OK, but really nothing impressive. The sound had little definition and depth.
Now I’m getting to the good bit, the saving grace: once I paired these earphones with my iPhone, they worked VERY well. I called the same people via iPhone to make the sound testing consistent, and they confirmed that it was a completely different audio experience! This time the sound was round, balanced, studio-like quality, no horrible harshness on the afore-mentioned plosives and fricative consonants.
In conclusion, I’d ask the developers to seriously look into these earphones performance on the Android system and test the way sound is being “translated”.
For potential buyers reading this review, I certainly would not advise you to buy these earphones if you plan to use them on an Android device.
But if you are going to use them with an Apple device, go ahead, they deliver a great audio quality.
P.S. I have not yet tested them with my Windows 10 computer, so cannot comment on that.

3,0 van 5 sterren Great quality earphones but hampered by bluetooth connectivity
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 29 oktober 2019
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
Since most mobile phones are now dropping the headphone jack I was forced to move to a pair of wireless headphones. The Anker ones sound great and work really well when paired with a single device (phone or laptop) but it is a nightmare to switch between them.
With my wired headphones I can plug them into the computer and listen to music but very quickly switch them to the phone when I receive a call. This is simply not possible anymore and means I will likely have to keep taking my wired ones with me.
The future is not always bright and rosy...

3,0 van 5 sterren Sound quality good but practicality in use poor
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 22 november 2019
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
Good:
The sound quality is very good.
The blue tooth connection to my 'phone works well.
Battery life appears to be better than previous wireless earphones.
Reasonably priced.
Bad:
I've tried all of the different sized surrounds provided for the buds but the units still fall out of my ears, so they are effectively useless for any activity apart from relatively stationary listening. For example, I can use them whilst doing DIY decorating but couldn't use them on a run or a dog walk as there'd be too high a chance of loss. Their size and black colouring also makes them very difficult to find if one does drop out. If for example, a bud were to fall out on the leaf covered floor of a wood whilst walking, it would be extremely difficult to find it again.
I find it difficult to press the units home into my ears without turning them on or off.
I admit to not reading the detailed instructions (I think the operation of kit like this should be intuitive) but there is no obvious way to increase or decrease the volume from the buds; only the 'phone they're connected to.

3,0 van 5 sterren Was great, but now not connecting to Bluetooth on my phone at all
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 22 april 2022
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
These were initially giving issues on my laptop and I couldn't use them with My HP laptop. I managed to a driver update to sort this and for over a year now I have been enjoying using the earbuds. The battery seems to last a fairly decent time over a wekk for daily commute use and the noise canceling ability is good depending on how they are fitted in the ear.
In the passed three weeks tho they have not connected to my phone and this has rendered them good for landfill as this is primarily what I use them for.
I'm not sure what has happened. I have drained the battery down and recharged, rebooted., plugged Into a laptop... Etc... No luck... So sadly I can't give theses a thumbs up. There are a lot cheaper headphones out there that may do the job. I think that after a year and a bit its a poor show for it to be giving up the ghost.

*Important* Forget the different size tips - There's no bass. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Sweet old Fanny Adams. *Important*

Put these up against a pair of Bluewow A7L earbuds that I've used and abused for a couple of years, just as a reference point for myself.
No idea how much the BW7's cost, as they were a gift and sadly they're not available anymore, but comparison is purely for the purpose of highlighting what aspects are performed well and which are not.

Test 1 - Compared playing music:
One of each bud in each ear, both with my old tips because they fit me best (I tried all the new ones also), seamlessly switching source back to back to back, with a variety of different music.
Followed by 60+ minutes use of both pairs individually, same playlist both times, various types of music.
Results:
There's a distinct lack of richness, depth, and bass to the SLP2's. Bass is something you feel not necessarily hear. The BW7's have a degree of reverberation, you can *feel* the vibes considerably well relative for their small size, but immeasurably more than the SLP2's. Which come out sounding as though there's nothing substantial driving in the back of the buds.
SLP2 highs are super high and bright, but it sounds like all the instruments are overlapping, there's no clarity to each person playing, and any drum hits are muffled almost as though the drummer's using practice pads.
Even tweaking the equaliser settings doesn't make a difference, seems it can't turn up what isn't there. As for BassUp technology, that's absolute marketing rubbish, if this is with an alleged 43% boost I cannot imagine what they'd sound like without the help. Disappointing.

Test 2 - Compared in voice calls.
Same setup again. One of each earbud, switching back to back, followed by a continuous call using both pairs.
Results:
The audio quality for myself, hearing the person on the other end of the call, was clear as day with both sets. Perhaps half a star better for the SLP2's because the sound is a bit brighter. The same problem with a lack of bass when speaking to a male, not the end of the world in a phone call it must be said.
The audio quality for the person on the other end was superb for the SLP's. No problems whatsoever hearing me, even over the noise of screaming children in the background. However, the same cannot be said for the BW7's. A couple of times I was asked if I was swimming at the time of calling because I sounded like I was underwater with a lot of strange static-interference-type noises.
This is the primary reason I purchased new earbuds, it seems the mic's have started to fall foul on my old BW7's. Possibly full of gunk, possibly wear and tear, and possibly accidental damage.

Conclusion:
I required some new buds primarily because the mics had gotten so bad on the BW7's (they were fine for a couple years) and who in this current age holds a phone to their ear. However 80% of my usage is listening to music, and these really aren't all that good for that.
On the plus side; SLP2's pair easily, everything's packaged really nicely, they look as good as any pair, decent choice of bud tips, the batteries hold up well and they charge quickly enough (although only time will tell how they last - will update later down the line).

3,0 van 5 sterren Average music, good call quality?
Beoordeeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 25 januari 2021
Kleur: ZwartGeverifieerde aankoop
I really wanted to like these. First off, they were easy to pair with my devices, and when taking them out of the case again they would immediately pair again without having to fiddle around in bluetooth settings. They also snap in magnetically to the case, feeling nice and secure. The play/pause button on the side is simple and I like it. To begin with the sound quality when playing music was really tinny; lots of other reviewers said it would be improved by changing the tip size. So, I swapped for the larger tip, and the sound was a little better; however they did not want to stay in my ears. In the end I used a pair of tips from my 10 year old Samsung headphones, and they fit snugly and the sound was massively improved! However, when putting them back in the case, the lid would not fully close. So be aware.

The earbud/case combo claims to have a super long battery life, and to be fair I used these - straight out of the box, with no charging - for about 2 weeks before I had to plug it in. I was also very pleased with the sound quality for phone calls; nice and loud and clear as possible. FOR A WHILE. After a couple of weeks suddenly the call quality was in the toilet, no one could hear me on the phone and I can't understand why? Maybe I just had a faulty set; I can't say, I ended up returning them for a refund. If they had continued working, I would recommend them for anyone who wants top quality audio for phone calls, or anyone who's not too fussed about music with very little bass.
