John Lloyd CBE is the creator of QI and founding producer of The News Quiz, Not the Nine O'Clock News, Spitting Image, Blackadder and No Such Thing As The News.Anne Miller is a scriptwriter and researcher for QI. She is Head Researcher for BBC Radio 4's The Museum of Curiosity and writes a literary column for Standard Issue magazine.

I purchased the kindle version of theis book, with my unlimited account. The book is full of facts that were used in the QI program. However, in the book, it goes into more detail about each interesting fact. At times, I felt that the depth of detail, was a little too deep and went on too long, to fill out a third book of QI.
If there is a fourth, yes, I would get it, in the hope that it is more like the program, and more lighthearted. this feels more like a downgraded encyclopedia.

If this book was actually longer then it would be a five star review because it's entertaining, informative and fun. But, about the 75% mark it ends. The remaining 25% is bumph - basically references and the legal stuff. And even if it was the full length it would still be too short.

And because of that it's poor value for money. This is especially so because all of the leg work has been completed for the TV show which, this follows so there is very little additional work that has to be done for this book. There are other general knowledge books out there which are just as entertaining, far longer with more depth and written with the same standard of verve and humour.

Overall a great book spoiled by being far too short for the money.

Rather like a book of 'fascinating facts' for those who were not generally ignorant about the contents. Some interesting stuff. You read it and think to yourself that you will remember some of the information but by the time you have turned the page a few times, you forget what youve actually read. A good book and an enjoyable poolside read.Same as all the other Qi books of General Ignorance.
