I was skeptical on buying this cable as the price was quite cheap. Fortunately, my concerns were unwarranted. This cable is long enough to go from one end of my small flat to the other and so far it has worked just fine with my sky router and the hub I got to connect my home entertainment system to the net.

The product was delivered quickly in easy enough packaging. It does have a cheap feel to it and I fear it may not last forever, but for less than a few quid I am happy to say go for it. Just keep caution in your mind so you don't break it, as the clips on the ends seem a wee bit weak... but if you leave it and don't connect/disconnect frequently it will hold up. Also, didn't notice any interference in the signal... a bargain find, just don't expect it to last long if you're rough with it.

Bought to provide a cabled connection to the router to replace wi-fi and did the job. 10m was almost exactly the right length for me. Has proven reliable in use, and although I've not measured the speeds, subjectively the PC's internet connection seems a little faster and more reliable now than when it was using wifi.

Very Cheap and it shows

When I saw the price of these cables I thought I would get two in case I ever needed a second one sometime in the future. Delivery was exceptionally quick, about 36 hours after ordering so no complaints there. I was replacing a 5 metre cable after my son had re-arranged his bedroom layout so disconnected the temporary set up and connected the new one - NOTHING! No sign of life despite using the same router port thath the 5 mtere cable had been in. OK, let's try the other one! Unpacked the second cable and tried it. Bingo!! It showed a connection, for about 4 seconds and then NOTHING! I put the 5 metre cable back in place and everything worked fine. I guess you get what you pay for but these are a waste of money.

Worked great for Sky+ and looked OK in the living room too

I bought this to connect my Sky+ box to the broadband router in the other room, which meant a 15m round trip round the back wall from the lounge via the diner to the modem/router.

Because the cable is white it sort of blended with the skirting board onto which it is tacked, so that was a good point.

It also worked as expected with my Sky+ box so I can now download Sky Anytime programs although I have to watch the monthly allowance closely (about 1Gb per movie).

Anyway, the price was great, the product was NOT some flimsy thing but was a proper Cat 5e (ie suitable for Gigabit) well-made cable.

No faults and lots of plus points on this one.

I have a blu-ray player in my living room that needs to have it's software updated every so often. To do this, it needs to be connected to a broadband router....which I have, but in an upstairs room.
I have ethernet cables, but none longer than 1 meter.....so nothing that could connect my blu-ray player to my router. I didn't want to start moving equipment around, so a longer cable seemed to be the best bet. As I wouldn't be using the cable very often, I didn't want to spend too much, so when I saw this on Amazon, for a couple of pounds, it seemed too good to be true.
Ordered it, and 2 days later I have updated my blu-ray's software (and watched Youtube on my TV, via the blu-ray player). Excellent item and excellent value.

Hello! This is my first review here, so I hope I get this right!
I chose the standard delivery and it was very fast, as I ordered on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday. The packaging was actually really good, it was the traditional amazon envelope, with a simple plastic bag (Really Good, none of that packaging that is really hard to open!) The cable did seem a bit thin, but does not seem very flimsy and the connections seem very tight and secure. One really good feature is these rubber things on the plugs, over the top of the plastic clips that hold it in, they are easy to push and out it clicks!
Overall Great for £1.67.

EDIT:

After about 2 days of use, I noticed that the plastic insulation around the main network wires has split for about 1 metre! Not happy, as it shows all of the wires and these have got tangled around a lot of things, and I haven't even moved it a lot!!

EDIT 2:

After contacting the seller, they have responded really quickly, and they have sent me a free replacement with first class postage, and it arrived the next day. This seems to be a lot better quality, and I don't need to send the broken one back!

I give it 5 stars, as there is great customer service, and the second product is a lot better quality!

20m Cat5e Cable is long!

A Cat5e cable is simply a Cat5e cable. Not much more anyone can say.

Super length, meaning I both cannot guesstimate distance and I can now hard wire anything to my router in any room in the house, and possibly loft if i so wish. I might even see if I can get it to go to my shed!

Gembird got this off so quick, I thought it must have been hand delivered. Never had anything arrive so fast in standard post.

Simple piece of kit, works well. the only thing I am not too keen on, it the cable is a little skinny compared to me other Cat5e's, but that's aesthetics that matter not to is functionality.

This 10m cable should be long enough to run through any normal size house, I have what I would consider to be an average size 3 bedroom house and the cable can run from my room upstairs in the far corner to just reaching the front door.
The plastics guarding the actual wiring inside is thick and if you bend the cable many time it won't rip.
The plastic casing clip which is used to disconnect the cable from a device is slightly fragile so be careful when disconnecting from a device.
As for speed it works perfectly well and overall I am pleased with the purchase considering I spent under £4 in total.
Overall: 9/10

I just switched from sky to talktalk as I wanted to bring down cost not knowing talk talk is total rubbish and i'm on a one year contract already, my talk talk router trips on and off and the range on my sky router is weak as it doesn't reach my room upstairs i decided to use my sky router and this wire up to my room i was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews on this not being a cat5e e.t.c but i must confess this is one of my best buys on amazon it works perfectly and so fast i am so happy with this purchase i have never given a 5 star but i am going to on this one and very fast delivery oops thanks guys

I was having some issues with my connectivity so I had to get new CAT5e cable. I saw this Gembird 10m CAT5e Molded Strain Relief Patch Cord Cable with 50 Micron Plugs and decided to try it since it is very long (10 m) it would be perfect to reach my wall socket without putting the cable under stress.

Not much to say. The cable works perfectly, just as expected. Have been using it for a couple of week now and I had no problems at all. Fits perfectly the wall socket and my PC.
