CAT5 (or CAT5e, or CAT6 etc.) is an internationally approved standard which states that the wires inside the cable must be made of SOLID COPPER. (We know that copper wire is good for signals, right?)
These cables are NOT copper. They are CCA - Copper Clad Aluminium. Aluminium is BAD for signals - very bad.
The fact that this information is hidden from the product description is deceptive. You simply can't have CAT anything cables with CCA wire.
This is why plenty of people get bad signal, slow speeds, dropouts, etc with these wires. Please, save your money and do NOT buy.
I will be pursuing for a refund - this is why clear descriptions are a must.

If you want a low-cost and simple solution for running a network cable I would highly recommend this cable to anyone. I've now bought another one as being so cheap it's a useful extra cable to have in the drawer for when wi-fi goes down or to attach device that require a wired connection to configure. It would be extremely helpful to me if you hit the YES button if you liked my review or NO and a comment so I can improve future reviews.

The way I have my router setup and my TV box I needed to actually have a real ethernet cable. I did use to use homeplugs but they broke, so thought a proper Ethernet cable would be the way to go, and its a great decision.
This currently goes from the front of my house to the living room, under carpets, currently hammered into part of the skirting board, and although its damaged in places, due to how I put it, it still works absolutely fine. In fact the reason I noticed I had not reviewed this was I am looking at getting another lead to plug into another box in the kitchen.
So all in all, works very well, obviously lasts well. Works with most devices, I've had it plugged into a YouView box for the last few months, before that it was plugged into a Sky box, and I've even had it plugged directly into my smart TV. WiFi works but you can't beat ethernet for speed, so that is always my first choice. If it wasn't for the fact my laptop is supposed to be portable, I would have that connected to Ethernet as well. I am considering a PC so will be getting one of these cables if I do for that as well

The connectors/ends look to be very robust and are very secure in - initial - use, with the hard-plastic snap-in aspect of the connectors/plugs protected by an 'appendage' made from the same material as the cable outer sheathing - a very neat idea, especially as the hard-plastic snap-in sections are always the first thing to fail and/or get damaged on other brands that I have used.
The cable itself seems light yet robust also (I have used other Ethernet cables that seem heavier duty, yet the connectors/ends are always the part which fails).
Sadly, three months into usage, one of the plastic clips broke (on one end connector), then the outer sheathing failed at the same end also, so we swapped that end into the 'router' as opposed to the laptop. Then the sheath failed on the other end (coming away from the connector). We are still using the cable after an application of super-glue (to plastic end clip/connector) and electrical insulation tape to both ends so as to help protect in the inner wires. It has to be said that we do un-plug our laptop from the ethernet cable on a daily basis, yet most make of cables last 1-2 years before failure - this one only lasted 3 months before playing up!
Bargain price, great delivery - yet the quality seems poor ('You pays 'yer money and makes 'yer choice!'. 'Buy cheap and pay twice' are sayings that spring to mind!).

This cable would be a good choice if you need a good solid permanent connection, or if you use a smart tv or DVD player that demands a constant connection or your house doesn't have the best wifi coverage. The speed is always good with this cable, even over the long length it still seems to be as quick as the wifi, it's probably slightly quicker.
Another thing I've noticed with Ethernet cables is the connectors, the levers on them can sometimes easily snap, but with this cable the connector is covered so snapping it isn't as easy. I've just looked at this cable though and the picture doesn't seem to feature this, I purchased my cable well over a year ago so the design may have been changed. If it does come with the protected levers though, then it's just another good feature of this fabulous cable. Never let me down.
