I guess it's pointless to use on a Jeep Wrangler, no diffence to me.

I read reviews about noise dampening and what to do to quiet down a Jeep Wrangler JKU (I have a 2017). And the route to take on the forums, google, YouTube is to apply an aluminum foiled butyl backed material.
I did strip down the complete interior of my JKU (it's easy, and relatively quick), all side panels, all seats, all carpeting, center console.
Applied one complete layer, and in some areas (wheel wells and flat surfaces) two sheets. I even added Noico green insulation and sound proofing over the entire 80 mil Noico.
I can't tell the difference, with the soft top up whether it's sound proofed or not lol, I kid you not.
I guess Jeeps are just noisy, and sound dampening and proofing in my opinion is pointless.
So the product for me in a vehicle sound dampening on a Jeep Wrangler was a fail. Does that mean the product is poor, or is it the environment and type of vehicle used (jeep wrangler).

FYI looking for something light in weight this is not. Noico black 80 mil 36 ft weighs 27 lbs way too heavy for a classic muscle car to return the item is $56.00 cost per box is $91.00. Not able to accurately rate it as i wont be installing it.

I take it they changed the packaging on this because I have purchased it 2 x before and the sheets came flat and now the ones I just received today are folded 3 x and it leaves creases where the folds are and spots without any buytl in those areas since it sqeezed out where it was folded into other areas. I can make it work but it is a disappointment from the flat sheets.

I'll probably switch a different brand next time, Ill have to remember to look into how it is packaged, always something ;). I would even prefer rolled up since it wouldn't squish out like the folder and it can be laid out in the sun to flatten out. I tried that with this but the folds still have the voids where the butyl is pressed out and it is not a nice flat sheet like the old packaging. I know this would be fine for use on a car's sheet metal but I am using it for speaker cabinet and the plastic parts of a home audio speaker and it would have been nice to have nice flat sheets with evenly distributed material throughout not places with voids.

I know some will say it is my fault for purchasing a product that is meant for car sound deadening but I am posting this in case others care about/need a flat product with no void areas this is something to keep in mind.

I bought this to do some spot application after doing most of my car with NVX's deadener. Given the great reviews, I figured I couldn't go wrong with it.

The good: The Noico deadener sticks reasonably well. I applied it with temperatures ranging from 60-70 degrees. When it was cooler, I hit the metal and the material with a heat gun for a few seconds though I'm not sure it was necessary. The diamond embossed surface helped me tell when the product had been rolled down completely. When compared to similar products, this is one of the most affordable.

The not so good: The aluminum foil backing tore in a couple of places when applying it over a curved surface. The black color on the aluminum also scratched off in spots, so if I buy it again I'll try the silver instead. As can be seen in the pictures, this Noico product is a *lot* thinner than NVX's 90 mil product. When I first got the delivery I thought they had sent me the wrong thing because of the box size.

My conclusion: Either the Noico is less, or the NVX is more, than advertised. The NVX went on better and seems to provide more deadening. Next time I'll probably go all NVX - unless I'm short on funds, as there is a big price difference. Of course, NVX is also much cheaper than Second Skin Damplifier Pro - though the material looks similar.

I've always used Fatmat before with great results, but this time I wanted something black for the stealth look.
I removed 2 stars for 2 reasons.
1. The black is just paint that comes off with any solvent.
As I was cleaning off sections with brake clean, some overspray would remove the black paint and show the shiny base.
2. The foil is VERY thin. I used the same plastic roller that comes with Fatmat, and the edges would puncture the foil and show the black tar base.

It also does feel thinner than Fatmat though I think they are both rated at 80mil.

I did like the diamond texture. It was helpful to see what spots I missed.
I would highly reccomend Fatmat over Noico black. I would just paint Fatmat black for a similar result.

Foil is super thin, so thin that it's easy to tear and ruin the material, i'm not a professional sound guy, but i do design and **build** things that go into space, so I'm fairly handy, material is heavy, easy to cut and malleable, exactly what you want with this sort of material, adhesion is good and over all happy with product...mainly due to the pricing, i would have been happier if i didn't tear a few pieces and have to scrap 'em due to the foil being super thin, you really have to be kinda gentle with this stuff or the paper thin foil will rip and the butyl material will stretch and tear behind it, so you really got to plan ahead and be gentle if you are trying to follow intricate curves and contours in the sheet metal.

I've never worked with this stuff before and don't see anyone else having issue with this so i have to assume that even the premium materials like dynamat will do this as well, it might just be my problem and i am using this in a non-conventional way as i am using more or less as padding (with the benefits of sound deadening material) in a custom cargo drawer i built in the tail gate of my 100 land cruiser....due to the backing of the material not being very good i'm going to glue down a thin layer of rubber mat over the top of it to make sure my gear that's stored in there doesn't get gooey from the butyl rubbing against it in places.... also the super thin foil is only painted black, the silver color was coming through in quite a few places on mine from what looks like to be the rubbing of the sheets during shipping.

all in all, due to my lack of experience with this sort of material i can't really recommend it or denounce it, all i can relate is my experience working with it from a novices perspective and my thoughts, when i go to actually sound deaden the whole truck i will likely go with another product, while this was acceptable in my opinion i'm going to be looking for something with a thicker foil backer in the future just so i can really work the material to get back into the funny bits and curves around the truck, as this stuff could just be torn by hand once an initial cut was started.

It's a good product. -2 stars because they tri-fold the sheets. They should be packed flat! If it weren't for that I'd give 5 stars.
