Productbeschrijving

Collection of four comedies following the Griswold family's vacations. In 'National Lampoon's Vacation' (1983), the West Coast Wally World theme park is the Griswold's holiday destination, and they intend to drive there cross-country all the way from their Chicago home. Father Clark (Chevy Chase) has planned the trip down to its last detail, but the trouble begins as soon as they hit the road. In 'National Lampoon's European Vacation' (1985), the family win a holiday to Europe. Contrary to their expectations, however, it is not a luxurious, all-expenses-paid kind of trip, but rather a cut-price, economy deal which takes them to some of the Old World's seedier locations. Of course, it's not long before they are caught up in all manner of misadventures. In 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' (1989), the Griswolds decide to spend the Christmas season at home. Needless to say, it is not as quiet as they had planned. Finally, in 'Vegas Vacation' (1997), the clan head for the gleaming lights of Las Vegas. Unfortunately, Clark is soon transformed into a compulsive gambler, daughter Audrey (Marisol Nichols) becomes an exotic dancer and son Rusty (Ethan Embry) begins posing as a suave high roller.

If you are a Chevy Chase fan you will love the first two movies, with the exeption of the Fletch movies they are Chase at his best. The Christmas movie allthough it seems it is the most popular and is fairly good is no where near as funny as the first two. Vegas vacation is where this box set loses one star, It's Ok but it does seem like a bit of an advert for the Las vegas travel commision. The blue ray version really makes these films look great they must have used high quality cameras and there are no special effect to expose either. Thes sound quality is also great.

This box set includes all the four originals (Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation) but not the 2015 Ed Helms follow-up.

What can I say? All the included films are a riot to watch.

Some people have complained about the sound track in the reviews. I did not have any problems with the sound track.

For me, the transfer is very good considering the age of the films, but obviously not to the high definition standard one would expect from more recent films.

This is as good as American culture gets. Just love the antics of Chevy and co - the Christmas Vacation film we watch every Christmas regardless as we are perhaps now word perfect, but it never dates with us - as this is laugh out loud stuff in every respect. This boxed set is brilliant being Blu Ray and the picture quality is top notch and much better than the old DVDs that this replaces.

These films are starting to get a little dated now, but there is still some mileage left in the comedy. I have always liked Chevy Chase films, especially Fletch, so I knew I would enjoy this box set, and I did. With the exception of Christmas vacation I probably won't be watching the others again for another few years.

Blu-Ray picture quality is very good considering the age of the films. Sound quality is clear through my TV speakers. I managed to get this set for £10 which I thought was pretty good value for money.

As much as I liked the idea of having the BluRay version I had endless problems (3 returns) before I tried this pack. The DVD pack is 4x slim cases that feature the original covers. The quality is as good as it will ever be given the age of the movies. Had no issues on a first delivery of these DVDs.
