Really "Madam President" now. This strong final season shows how Elizabeth McCord became so. Coming over strongly is the sheer scale of the pressures that each new day seems to bring. Skilfully McCord deals with mounting crises - not least the threat of nuclear war.
A major problem for her throughout are the unscrupulous tactics of political enemies at home. They declare the election rigged and are determined McCord be impeached. This powerful ongoing storyline becomes very gripping indeed.
Ten episodes. Thought provoking scripts. Tea Leoni and Tim Daly head a strong cast. Among many issues explored? Fake news made easy because outlets refuse to face up to their responsibilities. Post Traumatic Syndrome rife among those who fought for their country. Women deserving pay equal to male counterparts.
So many valid points made, this a show very much of our times!
In so many ways, fans may regard this sixth season a perfect end to the series which has provided so much insight and given genuine pleasure.
