I wanted to give this product 5 Stars because it does actually work, but is it the answer to chemical free Instant anti-fog lenses? I don't think the technology is quite there yet.
Here's the thing, the cloth does eventually work however it takes about 5 attempts for each lense of breathing both sides of the lense (if glasses) then wiping with the cloth for about 10seconds each time to fully work as you need it to.
Don't think it works? Use it on only one lense then breathe on both lenses to see the difference in time for each lense to clear.
The 2nd concern I have with the cloth is the amount of times they state it can work. On the Amazon page it states 700 times whereas on the cloth packaging only 450 times. However, while the ability to work may indeed be that many reuses, the ability to keep the lense clean while using the cloth will be much less than that.
I use a microfiber cloth to clean my lenses and what limits the amount of times I can reuse that cloth is the naturally occurring oils that the fingertips produce which transfers to the cloth and can then transfer to the lense.
Now I can wash the microfiber cloth (couple of drops of washing up liquid in the sink with cool water, then air dry) and then continue to reuse it, but it doesn't state that this anti-fog cloth can be washed and will still work as intended. I haven't tried washing it incase it doesn't work any longer as they work out quite expensive for what they are.
I bought 5 to give 1 each to other family members to try, so it did work out abit cheaper than just buying one, which is good.
So why 4 Stars..? Like i said above, the cloth does still work and realistically 1 or 2 minutes per lense to keep your glasses or camera lenses fog-free all day without the need for chemicals is still in my opinion a great thing.
Especially during this time of Covid-19 when you pretty much have to wear a mask every day and after not being able to breathe in them and your ears getting shredded we can all do without the extra frustration of not being able to see either!
I don't like using chemicals and especially anywhere near my eyes so these cloths are much better than chemical sprays and I'm glad to have the choice to use this instead.
As the colder weather approaches then as spectacle wearers will all know that coming into a warm room from outside usually causes instant foggy lenses and also the steam from opening an oven door can be an issue also. So these are some other benefits from using the cloths that should hopefully not be an issue for us any longer.
If your lenses have coatings on like mine do then rest assured this cloth is safe to use and will Not cause any damage so that's also good to know.
Thankyou for reading my Full Review and please let me know if it's been Helpful to you.
I've tried the Bolle (Works for like an hr or less after application), Revision (Worked okay on one lens, the left lens kept fogging still not sure what's different about its surface), Fogtech (leaves a distracting rainbow like film but did work), Cat crap and few others didn't work at all.
I have tried all the tricks, hand wash, soap bars, washing up liquid, rubbed in, buffed out, spells and so on.... then i moved to going through various masks that i thought might be more sympathetic to my needs.... nothing worked, despite many saying it did for them......
Anyway, it was one of those moments when i had to drive a vulnerable person to a hospital appointment and they wanted us to both wear masks - no problem at all.... until i approached a roundabout and steamed up...... Lucky for me, my foot works independently of my panicking brain, and i managed to stop safely.
and then i stumbled on these....... like a voice calling, it said these will be the purchase of 2020, not that i actually believed they would work, I was pretty much at the end of my Covid spec wearing tether.....
They arrived, i followed the instructions.... 1. clean specs, 2. breath onto glasses to fog them up 3. wipe with the new super cloth.
I almost felt excited to put my mask on after but the repeated failures and crushed dreams of a fog free view left me anticipating another failure deep down!
On went the mask and immediately i began to invoke a panic attack with some distraught respiratory issue..... and the spectacles did not fog up once........ nor did they for the rest of the day or the next morning!
Finally, I was cured (of fogging glasses at least).
So, the only thing that i found aggravates the effectiveness is sitting in the car with the air con on max cold for a couple of hours. this causes condensation...... Other than that, i clean and then wipe my specs every morning and have a whole day fog free....... now i just look at others with fogged up specs, somewhat smuggly!
Best Covid purchase of 2020 for me..... 3 weeks later and still on the first wipe which is still going strong! (they have a limited life according to the instructions)
