I wanted to give this product 5 Stars because it does actually work, but is it the answer to chemical free Instant anti-fog lenses? I don't think the technology is quite there yet.
Here's the thing, the cloth does eventually work however it takes about 5 attempts for each lense of breathing both sides of the lense (if glasses) then wiping with the cloth for about 10seconds each time to fully work as you need it to.
Don't think it works? Use it on only one lense then breathe on both lenses to see the difference in time for each lense to clear.
It works.
The 2nd concern I have with the cloth is the amount of times they state it can work. On the Amazon page it states 700 times whereas on the cloth packaging only 450 times. However, while the ability to work may indeed be that many reuses, the ability to keep the lense clean while using the cloth will be much less than that.
I use a microfiber cloth to clean my lenses and what limits the amount of times I can reuse that cloth is the naturally occurring oils that the fingertips produce which transfers to the cloth and can then transfer to the lense.
Now I can wash the microfiber cloth (couple of drops of washing up liquid in the sink with cool water, then air dry) and then continue to reuse it, but it doesn't state that this anti-fog cloth can be washed and will still work as intended. I haven't tried washing it incase it doesn't work any longer as they work out quite expensive for what they are.
I bought 5 to give 1 each to other family members to try, so it did work out abit cheaper than just buying one, which is good.
So why 4 Stars..? Like i said above, the cloth does still work and realistically 1 or 2 minutes per lense to keep your glasses or camera lenses fog-free all day without the need for chemicals is still in my opinion a great thing.
Especially during this time of Covid-19 when you pretty much have to wear a mask every day and after not being able to breathe in them and your ears getting shredded we can all do without the extra frustration of not being able to see either!
I don't like using chemicals and especially anywhere near my eyes so these cloths are much better than chemical sprays and I'm glad to have the choice to use this instead.
As the colder weather approaches then as spectacle wearers will all know that coming into a warm room from outside usually causes instant foggy lenses and also the steam from opening an oven door can be an issue also. So these are some other benefits from using the cloths that should hopefully not be an issue for us any longer.
If your lenses have coatings on like mine do then rest assured this cloth is safe to use and will Not cause any damage so that's also good to know.
