There are so many versions of this product on Amazon it was hard to choose. What made it more complex was that many look like they only have fixed angles of adjustment. I'm please to say this one does not, and I can adjust it to exactly the angles I need.
I owned another stand (B07VND8LBQ) previously, which was both strong and lightweight but did not lift the laptop at all. It sat the front edge of the laptop very close to the desk. I realised that when standing this meant that the top edge of the laptop screen was still too low, and negatively impacted my posture. This stand allows me to get the bottom edge of the laptop around 14cm off the desk, and so the top of the screen is correspondingly higher.
The brackets are quite stiff to adjust, which is needed so that it does not collapse under the weight of the laptop. An Allan key is included presumably for tightening if they get loose. Build quality looks good for the price, plain aluminium.
My laptop is 14" and quite lightweight (900g). Even having the laptop open to close to 180° the stand feels secure. Given the stiffness of the brackets I would guess that this would be possible with heavier laptops too.
The stand is quite lightweight and so ok for travel. But due to the bracket design it does not fold flat like my previous stand so takes up more room in the backpack. I'm happy with this compromise due to the posture advantage. Overall firm recommendation.
