Great have for those few wired moments

Love Apple’s decision to remove the mini-jack plug years ago and pushing the wireless technology.

But for those rare moments I need a mini-jack connection persé, this original Apple adapter is a must-have. Very affordable with Apple’s wellknown quality.

Obviously dislike the fact that I need to buy this at all but it does appear to be legit. Sound is good and the microphone and volume controls work correctly.

Don’t expect this to last long in my pocket.

My original Apple converter which came in my iPhone 8 box a couple of years ago broke recently I had a look around and settled on getting the exact same one by Apple. The other choices were strangely more expensive than this, though maybe the build quality would be better on those as this is just such a thin cable which doesn't inspire any confidence. My original one broke down and in the end was triggering Siri and randomly pausing my audio, and I expect this one to do something similar, though 2 years use is pretty decent I guess. I just hope it lasts that long!

As far as I can tell, this is a genuine Apple product. It has all the tell-tale Apple features:
- It is too expensive for what it is.
- It doesn't work as well as they say it should
- They spent more time on the looks than the function.
- It is as robust as a stick of spaghetti.

All joking aside, it works, most of the time. It doesn't have the same contact lay out as my iphones, ie some of my older headphones don't work with it. They sound like they are at the end of a long tunnel. This is because the older iPhones can take OMTP and CTIA standards for 3.5mm plugs. I needed to buy a converter. The plug still wobbles a bit and I need to pull out/push in the adapter if the sound goes all crackly. To be hones the fidelity of iPhones is such that I don't notice it much, hence 4 stars.

I was greatly annoyed when Apple ditched the headphone jack on their telephones, I had just bought a pair of expensive noise cancelling headphones and my iPhone had died, I got my new phone and this allowed me to continue using my headphones.
This adapter feels a little flimsy however I have been using it daily for the last 3 months and it has held up well.
There is no discernible difference in sound quality.
He only negative is that you lose your charging port when using headphones.

All I wanted was to see and hear what was on my iPad onto my smart television. I thought it would be easy, but of course Apple want you to buy their expensive product to make it happen. I tried a number of cheaper options (copy cables and Chromecast), but they either didn’t work, or the delay was ridiculous.

So £44 later, with this cable, finally I can mimic what’s on my iPad on my television. I have had to buy an HDMI cable too, and there is still a small delay, which I am disappointed with, but I can watch YouTube videos or do Zoom meetings now, which was the aim.

I really think that £44 for this cable is a rip off, but was left with little choice, and there is still a slight delay, so I’m not completely happy with my purchase, but it was a last resort.

It works really well which is good, considering I read the reviews before purchasing and it made me worried that it wouldn’t. It seems to be a genuine apple product from the box and warranty leaflets it came with. Fits in my iPhone 8 Plus with no trouble and, as you can see attaches to my earbuds as well. Obviously it’s a good buy for £8, and necessary when I lost my original one. Can’t really go wrong with this product, worth buying it in my eyes.

I was sceptical reading some of the reviews but for the cost, I am glad I ordered and took the change.

The product is neatly packaged and sealed - looks/feels genuine.

Connects securely to the lightning port on my iPhone XR and my headphones 3.5mm. Recognised headphones including volume controls (for reference they are just basic in-ear Skullcandy headphones) and sound quality is good.

I have not used a microphone through connection to verify if that works or not.

The connection for this does stick out (as expected for the lightning port) so I will be conscious of just putting in my jacket pocket to ensure it doesn't get knocked and damage the iPhone port. I bought knowing this.

I consider this a good purchase I can reuse my existing headphones until I have to replace - so what I wanted and at a good price

Was a bit concerned buying this as there were a lot of reviews saying these were not genuine, or broke not longtime after purchasing.

So far, haven’t found much wrong with it. I’ve only had it about a month and I bought it purely for listening to music in the gym. It slips into the small case I have for my ear phones nicely and I can’t think of a single moment where it hasn’t functioned properly in the time I’ve used it. Does what it does for a pretty good price.

Good idea, but not supportive of all headphones

This was working red really well with my blackberry, until the sound started to crackle. I had lost my iPhone headphones, so had to use this for my morning run. After a month the sound was horrible and the music kept cutting out because it would no longer connect properly.
Great product but maybe is only beneficial to a lighter phone or 3.5 jacked Apple headphones.
