Zeer degelijke fans voor een nette prijs!

Mijn PC case had nog de originele bijgeleverde fans draaiende en die zijn ondertussen 10 jaar (!) oud! Mijn HDD's kregen het te warm (eentje had meer dan 45 °C). Het was dus dringend tijd om deze te vervangen.

Gezien ik van plan ben een nieuwe PC te kopen wou ik een tijdelijke goedkope oplossing en die heb ik bij Arctic gevonden.
Na wat reviews op te zoeken zag ik dat deze grotendeels positief waren dus bestellen maar.

Aankoop en verzending verliep vlot bij Amazon. Niet binnen de 24u geleverd maar dat hoeft voor mij niet. Toch nog binnen een nette tijdspanne ontvangen (dag of 2 geloof ik).

De fans zijn van goeie degelijke kwaliteit. Arctic is een gekend merk dus heb ik sowieso al wat meer vertrouwen in dit product.

Super handig dat deze fans met elkaar kunnen gelinkt kunnen worden dankzij de 4-pin/3-pin stekkers.
Let wel op dat je niet teveel fans op je mobo header plaatst. Zeker bij oudere PC's zou dit overbelasting kunnen veroorzaken.

Helaas zijn de fans wel iets luider (op hogere snelheid) dan wat ik verwacht had. Hoewel ze ook weer niet echt heel luid zijn of zo maar in een stille kamer, bij warm weer, hoor je ze toch wel goed blazen.
Mijn HDD's hebben weer normale temps, ook bij warm weer, dus de fans doen goed hun werk.

Ik maak gebruik van de PWM zodat deze harder gaan blazen wanneer het heter wordt en zachter (en dus stiller) wanneer er een gematigde omgevingstemperatuur is.

De prijs voor dit voordeel pack is fantastisch. 5 goeie fans voor een scherpe prijs!
Zeker een aanrader voor doorsnee PC's. Als je echt een zware rig hebt met dikke GPU kaart(en) (en dus veel warmte) zou ik verder kijken voor wat meer high performance fans.

The Price is just the best. But the humming sound is pretty annoying. I'll be replacing them as soon as I want to spend more money on fans.

Quiet, at the expense of performance

I bought the Arctic F12 silent to cool a power amplifier in a hi-fi rack. I wanted the standard model, but Amazon would only supply them under the add-on program with a minimum order amount. I have two of them mounted behind the amp. On the plus side, they are near silent. I have to put my head up close to hear any noise from them, and from a foot away they are pretty much inaudible.

However silence comes at the expense of performance. These don't shift a lot of air. They'll be OK as exhaust fans, or possible extra side intake if you need them, but I certainly wouldn't use them on an air cooler, radiator, or as primary intake / exhaust. Standard fans don't make a great deal more noise and will push a lot more air. So despite the relatively cheap price, I struggle to give these a whole-hearted recommendation.

Fantasic Artic PC Cooling Fan

Hello, I bought the, "ARCTIC F12 Silent - Ultra-Quiet 120 mm Case Fan," as an extra addition to my first computer build. My case has one 120mm exhaust fan already fitted. So for extra cooling, I decided to install a front of case fan. I chose to buy the, "ARTIC," fan because this brand is well established and their products are of excellent quality. As you can see from my included image, the fan looks aesthetically pleasing, white hub and fan blades in a black housing frame. The fan's power lead has two connecting plugs, one three pin, the other four pin. Also included, are four screws for installing the fan to the case. Very Quiet

No fan is going to be silent. Well, I guess the fan can be but e hair it's shifting won't be! Anyway, these Arctics are as close to silent as you'll likely get. This is a 120mm which is generally going to be a bit louder than the 140mm equivalent as you can ramp down the 140 to shift the same amount of air. But, the case required a 120mm and my old board didn't have PWM so this was a replacement for an older and noisier fan. Much quieter. I do have a 120mm PWM NZXT fan in another case and find that can get audible over about 800 RPM so I guess that's pretty much the sweet spot for air shifting versus noise.

But yeah, if you need some basic case fans and can't, or aren't bothered with, supporting PWM, these things are the way forward if you value your peace and quiet.

It's not silent?

The blurb claims that this fan is silent... it's not! Maybe in a soundproofed case, but in my carbide 400R with lots of ventilation, I can hear it over everything else. Also after some time it started vibrating and experience leads me to believe this will turn into grinding pretty soon - the fan bearings will go...however it only cost £5.

I run my whole PC passive - huge Noctua cooler without the fans - semi passive PSU and GPU, so at desktop idle it's pure silence...except for this fan. Fortunately I only use it in the summer where it knocks 10C off my pc temp as an exhaust fan.

Would I recommend it? For £5 it does the job. Anymore and I would look in to Noctua or Be Quiet!'s offerings.

Good replacement fan

My case fan started acting up making very loud noises forcing me to open up the case and adjust it until it quietened down again. Must have been a loose bearing or something.

Installed this within 10 minutes. Unplug old fan, unscrew 4 screws on my case, screw this in and plug into the same pins.

Seems to work well, nice and quiet and holding my hand to the back of my PC feels noticeably cooler.

Had an Arctic fan before and worked wonders, this hasn't let me down yet either.

I hadn't heard of this brand before as I've only recently got back into pc gaming. After reading positive reviews on here I also looked online and again only heard positive things.

I purchased 2 to use as an exhaust for my pc case. They did the job and I'm very happy.

Very quiet which I'm pleased about! They replaced 2 Corsair ones that I had which were very noisy!

Excellent budget fans!

These are brilliant value fans. I now have 4 of these in total in my case. Personally I have found minimal noise for these when operating whilst gaming. They shift a really good amount of air, if you're after a budget aesthetic functional fan this is for you. Found them via YouTube recommendations and they rank highly, glad I went with this purchase!

Big manufacturing issue

De media kon niet worden geladen.

I have been seen a lot of fans in my past R&D positions. This fan is promising and cheap but the manufacturing quality don't match the expectations.

Please check the video and picture.

Fan rotor blades are not well balanced and the stator is ruined in manufacturing process. The rotor support structure in one of the for support beams is too close to fan blades and blades will touch the support beam. This will make a noise and you need a special tools to remove extra plastic.

Most probable there are a big number of same type of fans currently manufactured wrong and these fans are not tested in the production line.

I would like to have a refund or an another fan as replacement.

wow, i can not recommend these fans enough. i am an absolute sound freak as my pc sits right next to me on my desk (about 30cm away from my head). i found that my pc was getting pretty hot as i only had an exhaust fan in my case so i bought 2 of these to go in the front. i have a fan controller on my case and i have these set to full power and the noise level has not even changed in the slightest since adding these. also my GPU temp has dropped by about 25 degrees which is also amazing. im gonna buy a whole bunch more of these and cover them around my case as not i can get as silent pc that is still good with temps. and for a fiver i can not recommend anything else.

Not exactly silent, but quiet and efficient

As an experiment I used 6 of these in a build recently. At full whack they're not silent, but are fairly quiet in comparison to normal fans, but using the motherboards voltage control setting I found they are very quiet at <500 rpm. I also used 4 of these in a smaller mATX build and running at full whack they manage to keep the case from melting down. They're also far less noticeable than pwn fans constantly ramping up and down
